Sounds like an excellent opportunity to make a paid DLC, doesn't it?

People are already theorising that that was the whole point to begin with. How irritating. |8

Well, it could have been, if the game had been published by Activision-Blizzard :P

Fun fact: Blizzard is just about the only major developer that currently has no DLC at all.
Thankfully Activision lets them be pretty much autonomous.

Besides that, at least Bioware are actually doing something about it. Waiting seems to have paid off for me. I'll give it another few months and the game should be a lot cheaper by then too.

They were bound to listen.
I mean, the hold the line charity fund has reached it's goal of 80k$ and I hadn't seen so many bad [user] reviews for a game since C&C4...

I saw a rumor that the so call DLC "The Truth" which supposedly expands on the ending you selected, is free and it also seems to add MP components as well.

Major spoiler alert.

This seems like a likely explanation to the ending.

If that is it indeed, I'll be more pissed at Bioware than before. Why not integrate this into storyline and rather let people guess wtf is going on ? Mass Effect was a very good series and deserves a lot better attention on ending.

If it is true, it was already integrated but most of us did not get it, cos its too damn deep. Perhaps the background info to this was seeded in the Novels, not the games.

If that is the true ending, then that is alot more like it. I haven't played ME3 myself yet, so I couldn't have said if I would have gotten that or not, but surely if that was their intention they didn't seriously believe people would get it? People are generally stupid, and even if all the plot holes and inaccuracies are noticed, the blind rage that comes from having the conventional ending will negate that.

Still, that really does make a fantastic ending, but if it is the case, it should have been explained after your ending sequence.

I find it funny that people complain that a game ( in this case ME3 ) after they buy it and demand a change. I wish people would understand that a company such as EA doesn't give the smallest shit about their buyers opinions after they BUY. They got their money, so rage „post paying” is useless. If indeed bioware will release a DLC for free (which given their new politics imo is prety much a daydream) then wow ... they just went anti everything EA stands for. My guess is that they will give a small ending for free (more text explaining shit and maybe some small ending movie) while the actual content missions and multiplayer content will be for an actual price. I have lost even the smallest hope i still had in bioware so basicly i have the same impression of their DLC as i had about the game itself. And at least in my opinion, ME3 is a failed oportunity from just about every possible point.

EA obviously gives a shit about public opinion, considering how they spend every waking minute attempting to salvage their PR.

Also, telling people that they shouldn't complain when the product they bought was bad, is, honestly, a rather stupid way of thought, almost as bad as "If you don't like our multimillion dollar game/movie, then you can just make a better one!"

What I keep wondering about myself is, can't people just forget the last two or so minutes of the game? That way it's much better.

I would if that game were not a game I play only for its storyline and nothing else ... Even though combat is ok in ME, it is not enough to make people enjoy the game, fans of ME fans because they like the story.
If ending were as epic as Metal Gear Solid 4's, I would've reduce my criticism on some minor parts but sadly ending was THAT BAD... :/

My hopes for the game was too high, and when I started to playing it, I thought it will exceed my expectations, indeed at some points it was very good, but such a good series must not end this way. It must be unforgettable.
When I completed it, I just said meh, which I waited for years to play this game...

Squigpie - im not telling people to stop complining. Im telling them its pointless after they give their money. They do that for the last MANY years, and in case no one realised it yet, the results are exactly the oposite - game companies create shittier products with each year, and people buy them more and more with each year. The point is - how about stop spending money on a game until your not certain it's worth it (and believe me theres ALOT of ways to do that) - that way producers will start thinking twice before releasing shit. As for EA quite frankly given the last 10 years of game evolution under EA shows how much they give a shit about their PR.

Also yeah ... we would forget about the last 20 min of the game, only Mass Effect is all about storyline. It is a shity shooter (compared to 99% of the shooters) and a shity RPG compared to just about any actual rpg game, which leaves just a cool storyline with what used to be a cool way to allow the player to chose his ending. And that's pretty much what they destroyed in this one - the only thing that was cool about it.

The alternative is a retcon though, is that REALLY what you want? :/

Well here is something cool, which i can once again say - i told you so. The new DLC bioware is making for the ME3 endings is as i said: text and cinematics. Oh and further more it's not going to change anything just explain the retarded shit they did with probably more retarded shit. For more insight on bioware's increasing awsomeness read this:

They ruined it, people wont change their opinions on it even if they somewhat make a full game with best ending possible. That ending experience meant to be felt when completing the game, not on some DLC released months later.

Tell that to gaming journalism. They'll probably just rant about how entitled and homophobic you are.

The extended cut is out on consoles. It would be seeded on PSN during the this Tuesday's update. PC would follow suite I think. Did anyone try it yet. Few comments in Gametrailers seem to suggest that some are happier with the ending.

The new ending added is interesting and the added dialogue and scenes seem neat for the three endings. Go on Youtube if you want to see them and are too lazy to work for them ingame :P.
