Ion Storm + OCL spawn animation issues

1. The Ion storm that the Scrin Harvester can spawn when it is killed is given me problems. Specifically certain units are able to target the storm & will continue to fire at it until it expires.
Any ideas why this is happening? maybe this was one of the reasons that the ability was disabled.

2. I have a Devil's Tongue which is spawned via an OCL special power.
However I can not find a way for the Devil's Tongue to appear with it's 'surface' animation, I have it just fading in to view.
Is there a way to get an object being spawned via OCL to play an entrance animation?
