Likewise I've never understood what people see in beer.
Do you drink alcohol at all? :P

Pretty much.
I mean, I like beer but it is nice to have a change every now and then.

Cider is pretty much "beer, but not quite" anyway. It's a bit strange if you like one and not the other.

Getting drunk off cider (and beer for that matter) is pretty stupid imo. You need a rather large amount which would force several trips to the bathroom, not to mention all the gas you'll get. [tmi warning]

If you include awful things like frosty jacks as cider, then people drink that kind of cider because its cheap as hell. Good cider / hard cider isn't generally drunk to get pissed, though I find some things hit me alot harder than others. I can drink a hell of alot of spirits and remain relatively sober, whereas a few pints of 7%+ cider and I'll be very drunk. My general thing now is just to have a few pints of good cider which gets me to the happy/merry stage and then stop.

Yes I do drink alcohol, I just dislike beer, I find the taste pretty horrible. Even with all the flavours of beer they tend to all have the same base taste, and thats the part I dislike, I also dislike the aftertaste.

For the same reason you dislike beer and like cider, is the same reason I detest champagne and like wine. I know they're derived from the same base, and therefore have the same sort of base taste. However, wine's aftertaste is much better, and it is a much smoother drink to stomach (it's not fizzy, and a glass of wine is actually good for you).

Alias/Chyros would typically put that down to "bad taste".

I will admit beer is an acquired taste, but if you grow up in a beer society it's pretty hard not to acquire it.

White wine is for women anyway, champagne included. Men drink a strong red. :P

red wine tastes even better (and it's even healthier 8|) although the stum from the white grape tastes better (yet there's so little alcohol you would be rather be stuck on the toitet than drunk).

Ugh, bourbon. Horrible. It tastes like sugar and dust >.> . JD is not even good enough to mix with cola <.< . If you want whisky, only Scotch will do.

Had seven beers, two dry martinis, two flatliners, two more shots I can't remember, two long island ice teas and a glass of red.

Needless to say I was pretty floored for about two hours.
Reasonably sober enough now, probably about bed time. Not looking forward to this hangover. D8

Now there's a good man! Even though it's 94 proof and will swallow the Captain (Morgan) and the Admiral (Nelson) and drown Calico Jack, and a Sailor (Jerry) or two without even thinking about it, it is a very good rum that all but disappears when mixed with cola. Kraken is perhaps my favourite rum that I have tasted thus far, not to mention it comes in a rather kick-ass bottle to boot.

On a separate note, put a rum in front of me (provided it isn't Banker's Club or Captain Morgan) and I will happily drink it down. D8
