I got to play the new spec ops waves mode at Eurogamer today, good fun if nothing ground breaking. The ACR still annihilates anything.
The visuals arent as dated as they appear in the videos, tho this may be due to the fact that i was playing on a 70 inch LED screen

there's something about those videos, they seem a little too smooth... not necessarily a bad thing but it looks somewhat unreal.
also, all perks in the game as ultimate point/kill reward? i smell MAJOR imbalance here. somehow it feels as if they've actually done quite a lot to balance stuff out but completely disregarded this effort by adding a shitload of new imbalanced crap.

"As a support class, your point system doesn't reset on death"
"As a Specialist class, you unlock more perks the more kills you get"
Pardon me, but this seems kinda retarded IMO, atleast the last part. The support is easily balanced if all your abilities are about recon and detection instead of spawning attack helicopters and AC-130's, but the Specialist sounds quite OP. Imagine you runing around with Ghost, Scavanger, Juggernaut, *Insert perks here*. You are guaranteed to win every 1v1 encounter, and possibly 1v2 encounter you end up in, unless the other player(s) are Specialists with lost of kills aswell.
Unless you get a nerfed version of the perk as a specialist I see no reason not to play it, since it would put you are a major dissadvantage.

I like the specialist thing, it sounds like a lot of fun. Don't forget there is no stopping power, double tap or juggernaut in the game, the very best perks are missing. You also cannot get Overkill with the specialist package, btw. So that means that you become very powerful, but you can still be killed in (if they didn't massively change weapon damage compared to MW2) about 0.1 to 0.2 seconds which is the average time-to-kill. And this coupled with the fact the PLAYER does all the killing instead of autonomous hardpoints doing all the work for you makes it sound very good indeed. Remember, the perks are only as good as the player wielding them. Sure, you become a lot harder to stop, but it CERTAINLY can't be unstoppable unless you play well enough to be, in which case you deserve it.

Also the Specialist Strike package seems to be unlocked at lvl 80, so you won't see a lot of people using it.
Also you don't get every perk in the game, only 3 additional. (1 at 2, 4 and 6 kills)

You get a new perk after 2 kills. When you die, you loose the extra perks and start again.

Why? You don't keep them after you die or anything.

I just want the possibility to have the Riot Shield with a pistol or SMG like in CS... Looks like that it's not going to happen :(

You can have a pistol or machine pistol on as a secondary with riot shields. You can't use them at the same time as the shield though, however the shield will protect your back while you have your secondary out.
