you can edit in 3d mode in renx also. i do it all the time.

you got 4 panels. each can be set to a specific view. the perspective view is used for 3d editing. i am mostly into mesh manipulation so i mostly use the xyz co-ordinates to get things to look exactly the way i want them to look.

Mm yeh last time i used RenX i could only view the model in 3d and not edit it, defaulted to the fourth panel. Ah well, i like Wings more, has a nicer interface...

did you convert the model to mesh or nurbs or poly?

for the sake of security and to avoid getting your inbox stuffed with spam i would advice you to remove your email id.

in general practice
when giving out your id write at or [at] instead of @. they are a lot of bots that sniff for email address to spam. another option is typing in dot instead of ".".

3dsmax is not free. if you talk about distributing it for free, it amounts to piracy. keep that stuff for msn convo if you must but dont bring it to the forum because you are putting the forum in danger of a law suit too.
