Unlikely statement: Battlefield 3 has a better plot than all 3 Transformers movies combined :xD:

Much better plot than Wrath of the Titans and Battleship :P In fact, first Transformers movie is surprisingly good for an animated series spinoff..
It is way better than most of the crap they do in the name of making a movie nowadays. No need to mention it contains one of the best cgi...
( I am talking about the first one by the way... )

And an epic soundtrack of course :P

The movie was a travesty to the series.

It's at the pinnacle of 1980's cheese, you need a certain sense of humour to love it.

It's just so utterly ridiculous that it's entertaining, even if it's low quality.

Bayformers is just SO SERIOUS and it completely fails to capture the atmosphere, and you end up with a below-average generic action movie that's an awful adaption of the source material.

You got a point there, it has nothing to do with source material, it is a lot better |8

Bayformers wasn't serious. It was "HEY GUYS THESE BAD GUYS ARE BAD AND WE HAVE TO STOP THEM. OH LOOK SHINY CARS. HEY BOOBIE HUNTINGTON TITLEY, TELL MEGATRON THAT HE'S A BITCH. *insert poor in taste black joke* " with a few more variations on the theme. Bayformers thinks it's serious but falls flat on its face.

Avengers was a much better made movie in that respect given how naturally characters interacted with each other. Its plot had a few minor holes and missed oppurtunities but on the other hand, it managed to not fall flat on its face.

You agree with my main point then - it attempted to be serious but failed, among a flock of other shortcomings. It was as generic as generic could get and on top of that wasn't faithful to the source material. An example of a serious reimagining of a previously light hearted series that actually works (in terms of previous adaptions, at least) is of course Nolan's Batman, even though I despise Christian Bale.

The reason the Avengers was good is because Joss Whedon is actually a competent writer/director whereas Michael Bay is on the complete other side of the spectrum. The only thing he knows how to do is insert explosions.
