Impossible, they just need to call each other with their routes ahead of schedule on their Fanta can string phone so they be sure to avoid all possible awkward face-to-face interaction.

I have a better theory. Those two Guernseymites somehow got angry at each other for a mysterious reason, they scheduled the crash with bikes but Bob's enemy was an asshole and came with car instead of a bike!
