Why? It seems like horrible stuff.

Daily life has its own set of horrible stuff. This would be something new and exciting {8)

I feel like if we discovered Tiberium, it would just line up with overall theme of the last few years. |:

Day 2 of the invasion...

When you look at its history, war of some sort was kind of unavoidable.

And the war of influence has been going on for years. There was proof of notable Russian interference of Brexit and Trump.

Ukraine barely lasted 30 years independently. With such a divided people, a long history of Russisism, previous leaders that were staunchly pro-Russian, and a lack of NATO membership, as well as very high Russian interests in the region, particularly in the Crimea, either civil war or annexation by Russia is almost unavoidable.

That it would come to quite THIS level of open aggression I still find surprising though. I guess Putin read between the lines well enough.

I read that this invasion was odd - no signature russian tank blitz with infantry divisions.

It's as much of a war to bolster Putin's approval ratings as it is about the actual war.

I am afraid we will have something similiar soon. Turkey moving on to take Greek Islands. There will be election next year, and it is expected that Erdogan will most certainly lose this one because of the bad economic situation.

Of course he can't let that happen with all the corruption they are involved in for the past 20 years, so they will start a war, sure of it.

The war for the Falklands helped reelect Margret Thatcher in a time when she was struggling politically.
I'm not saying it was the wrong call (I don't know enough about it), but it definitely helped strengthen her image. Likewise for Putin (who has been struggling politically recently).

Jesus Christ, another war in Europe. Never thought I'd live to see the day, and yet I'm only 34.

Hasn't the Ukraine been at war with its self since 2014?

Cats are worse than humans, their fighting is much more common. They just look cuter, that's about it :P
