Btw speaking of not being able to take things seriously, I've tried Killing Floor 3 and I didn't even get to playing it, the guns are all so ridiculous I'm not gonna bother. Also running is back.

So! I played the KF3 beta! It's pretty good, shooty, bloody, musicy... but it doesn't feel like a Killing Floor game. About 30 minutes in and I realised that it plays more like Darktide (but without the missions & objectives), which is fine and perfectly good, but not what I want (but probably something like what I expected). I understand why Tripwire has gone down the route that they have, but it really feels like a Killing Floor skin and aesthetic on a completely different game. Any remaning survival horror elements left in KF2 have been replaced with action beats and accessibility for those not used to the genre of whatever the original Killing Floor was.

I have no problem with the guns, though, but then all I need is the guns to go bang bang... I'm not an 'Enthusiast'

Gameplay-wise, I think Sker Ritual captures the creepy dread-enclosed feeling of Killing Floor 1 (but again without the gun enthusiast bit).

Maybe we can get a fan made spiritual successor to KF1. Weirdly British, slow pacing, overwhelming momentum, terrible but endearing voice acting and a grungy indie horror movie vibe.

Though admittedly I've kind of lost interest in CoD since I started playing Tarkov.

I doubt they will, Tarkov devs are fiercely independent. Their lead dev is a complete loose cannon . I agree it feels weird to buy from some random website but it's worth it IMO.

Maybe it's for the best. Tarkov is REALLY hardcore .

I remember something about three colours being present in layers and being able to adjust the layer thickness and flipping colours and getting new gumballs out of the machine presumably if the colours don't match but that's about it.
