It has territory mechanic like San Andreas. Also gathering, mining, farming(by killing enemies) resources, quite solid addictive loop.

And atmosphere is quite chill for what you are doing, so adds to hypnosis.

Started playing today, have 4 hours already

I saw the game on release and was interested and then saw reports of its addictiveness and steered clear.

It does not feel like a game that retains addictivity even after you finish it. Though it might take a good while to finish it.
