There is generally a shortage of doctors and dentists over here.

If you move here, I don't know how you actually get a dentist - Most will turn you away if you're not already registered with them.

My dentist couldn't remove my wisdom tooth, so I've been referred to a different dentist - Ironically a dentist I originally contacted and they turned me away.

Not sure how accurate this is, but there are apparently 46 dentists on the island for 60000~ people.

There are also only 3 people who do oral surgery, which probably explains why I had to be referred to a different dentist. The one I'm seeing is also retiring this year.

Hmm, it doesn't sound like a lot, but I looked it up and in my province there's 1009 dentists for about 1.4 million people, so the ratio is even lower here Oo .

I guess younger dentists that have practices that, having scaled up, are more efficient.
