Field camp next week. It's going to be the epitome of all the soldiering I've gone through for the past few months. I will pass it. I will conquer it. I will pass out, and I will......join the Navy. Nothing is going to stop me.
:xD:
What? 4 days, 3 nights, out in the field. Rifle, load bearing vest, no contact with civilization, crawling in mud, going to ground, doing artillery drills, anti-aircraft drills (pretty dumb IMO), getting punished, building tents, digging a hole to lie in...
Pretty dumb? You know that repetition is the fundamental basis for combat training, right?
He means anti aircraft drill is dumb, it is true since they have no proper aa to counter a . * Minigunner reporting for duty * |8

He's right. Our anti-aircraft drill is pretty dumb. They want us to sit down in the middle of an enemy air attack, point our 5.56mm rifles at the sky, and attempt to shoot the plane down.

So when I asked them: "What if it's a heavily armored ground attack jet?"

Then they answered: "Don't ask 'what if's. We're only teaching you the basics."

:xD:

I question the general assumption that i am inherently deficient in the area of grammar and sentence structure

You should have asked if there were anyone more competent around that could teach you a real AA drill.

I can get charged for insubordination/disrespect for superiors.

Attempting to succeed where odds are impossible is the most basic thing in the army anyways :P

What is there to instruct in the ship anyway ? Keep the entire ship clean must be the most serious of all the instructions...

There's a couple of gays in my Company actually...well, they're friendly people, don't really hit on anyone...probably because it's the Army.

They don't hit them during the day, that's obvious. But do they know were they are at night?
