Which website that you use frequently requires Flash?

All which could (and should) use HTML5 to serve video to devices that support it.

The Escapist does already, but makes you pay for it, which is just silly.

Just did a quick check, the Beeb serves Flash-free video too. Aaaand so does CollegeHumor.

Ergo, none of them require Flash.

I had to disable HTML5 from Youtube just for the sake of being able to use certain plugins that manage autoplay, autobuffer and player size...
I wish there were similar plugins for HTML :<

Edit: I've done a quick search and this time I did find a working plugin, yay!

It may be stupid that they charge you for it, but that is irrelevant, I still have to use flash (as I'm obviously not going to pay for it).

The beeb doesn't show all of it's content in HTML5 and if there is HTML5 video on college humor, it's not done automatically and it's certainly not obvious how to change it to show HTML5.

Considering I just watched a test video on CollegeHumor in iOS, I'm pretty sure you're wrong. Not my fault that your device (or operating system) is too stupid.

What BBC content needs Flash? News things played fine, iPlayer has a native client (on iOS st least).

Perhaps you did watch a video on College Humor, but it's not my fault that the website has been designed in a poor way (i.e. only apple products count as mobile devices). It's not like I'm on an obscure OS/browser.

There is indeed a stand alone iPlayer app, but due to stupid region restrictions, even though I can watch iPlayer content perfectly fine, I can't download the bloody app. :P But I was more talking about news content, once again, nothing loads on at least some content. This may work on an iPhone/iPad, I don't have 1 to hand to test. At the end of the day though, it's completely irrelevant. If the website has been designed in a poor way and only flash content loads, I 'have' to use a browser that supports flash.

Why don't you use the ultimate control Android provides and change the user agent?
I mean, the control is really the only reason to buy Android. /sarcasm

That said, this is distracting from the initial meaning of my post. Flash is dead. I didn't actually expect BBC or CollegeHumor to be serving HTML5, so the conversation went on a tangent.
That said, developers should be serving HTML5 to all devices that can support it, at least to the ones with native support. I'm not certain if the Android support for HTML5 is even decent, but that's the problem with a fragmented platform.

One thing I will admit is that the desktop based web implementations still need further work, although Flash is pretty flaky playing large videos as well, so that isn't exactly an isolated issue.

I completely agree, flash should be dead, at the very least, for videos. There are occasionally some things that wouldn't work great in HTML5.

HTML5 is pretty decent on android, don't know how it compares to iOS though.
