Perhaps I should if only they actually did code the aiming properly on a fucking fps game They should've just copy paste what they did with previous game instead of ruining it

A good expansion pack can last ages! Just look at what Zero Hour did for Generals, and LoD did for D2! Especially with regularly tweaked and updated gameplay.

Can't disagree with that, Expansion Packs were always good times.
I think it was because the game was release and the company got some feedback on what they should do. Also they didn't have to focus on creating the main experience, just the little extras that make it interesting.

Most DLC these days tends to be made straight after the game is finished development (or even worse, while it's being developed). So none of the after launch wisdom gets added.

Mods are what really made C&C Generals live for ages though, not the expansion itself.

Although you could argue the expansion introduced more 'moddability'

I consider the best mods to be unofficial expansions (well Shockwave defiantly was). The total conversion mods (or even ones that added one new side) tended to be a bit pants or unfinished.
