Generals doesn't have that big of a follower base. It was hated on by C&C fans that consider it not to be part of the series. Also, do you think anyone would still trust EA after C&C4?
Heck even Red Alert 3 managed to fuck up that series' follower base, and it was not even a shit game. Not to mention their other franchises, they even managed to kill Mass Effect and declared there won't be any DLC or support for Andromeda...

You need to realize that EA kills every franchise it touches, and there's no going back. You want a proper C&C, that's gonna require EA giving up the license and giving it back to someone who actually cares about the series like ex-westwood employees.

I got C&C in a contest on a fansite, there were 10 copies for grabs and only 7 people entered. That's how bad it was.
I was never able to finish the game, the last mission was too long to finish, and seeing as how their servers were shit, it was unable to stay connected for more than 30 minutes without issues, a simple 10 ms desync being enough to disconnect you entirely from the SINGLE PLAYER missions.
