Chinese pork is much nicer than pork here, but the inverse is true for chicken and beef. Beef in China is notoriously terrible that a restaurant selling 'Australian beef' is a sign of quality.

It is because they are selling dog beef. Australian beef means cow beef.

I see. That might explain quite a few things, yes. That said, I don't know of a lot of halal food which tastes particularly great, either.
