Actually, them designing D4 based on D3 is EXACTLY what I'm afraid of .

They will most likely base it on D3 by adding things from D2 (darker tone and story(i hope so))
Only hardcore D2 fans will enjoy it exactly as it is so graphics must stay as it is now or improve.

They're worse than EA, don't forget Blizzard has been bought by Activision.
They basically democratized loot boxes, they fire people to avoid paying them bonuses, and their games are a money grab. (Diablo 3 was just theft with the auction house, black ops 4 is a joke, destiny 2 is made to make you spend money on DLC, etc)
The only reason they get away with it is because of fans who have stuck there since the first warcraft and diablo games and the amount of goodwill they had, but now people are starting to see that blizzard collapsed since activision got its hands on it.

I don't know about Black Ops 3 or Destiny but i enjoyed all the games i bought from Blizzard, and i consider them as worth the money. Sure those games could have been better but i could say that for all the games i have played.
And let us not forget those game companies exists only for one purpose: to make money. So they will try to go for easiest way if possible, we can't blame them for attempting it, because thats how the system works now, not just for game industry but for everything.

But still, it is fun to bash EA
