I'm tempted to write a review on it, actually.

The gameplay is pretty awful and extremely annoying at times. If you want to play a good Metroidvania, don't come looking here, almost everything is bad. Parts are virtually unbearable.

The imagery, storytelling, graphics, setting, and soundtrack are, conversely absolutely sublime. It's a beautiful, horrifying world that you can't help but want to explore, and it kind of gets into your head too. The usual revulsion that washes over me when confronted with religion make way for intrigue and curiosity, which is a bit of an achievement, I think.

At the moment, I'm playing it with a cheat engine, because the game is too horrible to play without cheating. Even with cheats, you die very frequently, actually, so it's not even a breeze with it. At the very least I'd recommend using the cheat that allows you to come back where you die, because there's rather few checkpoints in the game, and it's easy to miss them, too. I'm really mainly playing it to explore the world and the story, though. Making lots of screenshots along the way .
