I concur. There are better, more pleasant notes to play it with.

I can't believe they're genuinely considering tossing EU citizens out of the UK now. I thought even the biggest nutters wouldn't have thought of that, especially after all those promises beforehand.

Shows you what a politician's promise is worth, I guess.

They lie so much that it is possible to hear contradicting statements in the same speech. Erdogan does that a lot. Yet we can't convince his supporters that he is lying.

He gained the popularity when he was the mayor of Istanbul. Corruption was so horrible back then, even the critical services (such as water and electricity) were not functioning and there were frequent, almost daily disruptions. He solved those issues (or that's what people believe that he did it all by himself)

Also he went into jail for a short time for reading a religious poem in a political rally. Which gave him immense popularity among islamist population. His party won the elections as soon as he came out of it.

Similiarities between him and how Hitler rise to power and held it is so striking:

*Went into jail
*Gained popularity after they get out
*Came to power when there was economic crisis
*Wants to resurrect some sort of old imperial dream
*Made immense advances in military
*Have expansionist dreams
*Military expanded to neighbour countries
*Minorities treated badly. His followers are ready to kill whoever oppose them.

Most important one: Lies constantly, non-stop, blames opposition (sometimes blaming "external powers" too) Basically builded his own reality and made his followers live with that delusion too.

TLDR: He was lucky to rise to power when the economy was horrible and was just recovering. All people care is money, when things go that bad again, he will go aswell.

Do you need to have played Witcher 1 and 2 before 3 or doesn't it really matter?

Doesnt matter and you shouldn't, they suck. Play Witcher 3, storytelling is amazing and you can understand what is going on anyway.
I still yet to finish it, want to take my time, i feel bad when a good story ends.

I assume you watched the series? It kinda gives the backstory of it so it is even better to start after the series.

I would suggest you play 2 first - it doesn't really feel that dated and in terms of time needed to complete it it doesn't take nearly as much time as the first one - and it doesn't really have the gameplay quirks of it either (the first one is in the Neverwinter Nights engine, but obviously not following D&D rules so it plays a bit awkward) whereas the gameplay of the second, while there is a few differences and improvements in the third is still quite serviceable.

There isn't too much story overlap between the second and the third (one of the most major characters in the second is missing in the third) but it does link up well and definitely builds up the world a lot better as it covers a lot of the events that are references in the third, and covers quite a few areas that aren't really touched on in the other two.

Jumping to Witcher 3 straight away if you are really strapped with time, but I think there's enough good gameplay and storytelling in the Witcher 2 to be worthwhile going through first.

I'd say it's probably not worth playing any of them because they are in third person. I'd start by not playing the first one, then skip the second and don't install the third.

YOUR MOM is not worth playing because she is in third person! >:(

But yes, first two is not really worth playing if you are not truly into that kind of game. But third is on whole different level. A Masterpiece really.
