Depends on how you look at it. Maybe sun is keeping all those planets hostage.

or maybe, dragging her children along.

They really ought to make a Battlefield game where you PURCHASE your guns and vehicles rather than just picking and taking them. That would make gameplay MUCH better, I think. You could have justifiably have guns with different effectivenesses, and it wouldn't feel lame if vehicles were overpowered because you could always just buy yourself one.

In-game money or real money? Wouldn't be surprised if they are selling in-game weapons with real money now.

In-game obviously. Fuck microtransactions.

It works quite well already with C&C Renegade but that game isn't quite refined enough (really just a first try or proof of concept), and is too small-scale. Plus, the game objectives are a little bit simple. Really liked the infantry and vehicle choices though.

NS2 did something similar and that worked quite well; it was even nicely asymmetric. But it was pretty small-scale, and I think a modern warfare setting would be really cool. Also, things were quite expensive, so you only had access to higher-tier things a very limited amount of the time.

If you took a more Battlefield-like game shell and unleashed economy gameplay mechanics on it, that'd make a great recipe, I think. You could make capturing sectors increase your income, give you access to advanced loadouts or vehicles, or provide more forward deployment points.

I think there's an Arma 3 mod that also has purchaseable vehicles but that'd be missing the point. You want something that's tactical but not lost in milsimness.

NS2 was nice. If only there was more than 10 people playing it worldwide...

Unknown Worlds have been sold to Krafton. Maybe they will make a NS with larger player base.

Enemy territory quake wars played a bit like that IIRC but obviously it's old now.

BF2 played better than the modern alternatives. I think the original design decisions have been muddied by new game concepts that haven't panned out.

Well, new concepts can't succeed in a capitalist gaming market. They must make the game that will make the most money every time. Triple A? More like triple ?.

The inevitable revolution will surely bring about new games. In the ruins of society, Steam will be our only respite.

Edit: there was supposed to be a pound sign, but my android keyboard doesn't want to do that. Also emoticons seem impossible 😑

Can't wait for what Unreal Engine 5 will bring. Up until now, great graphics usually meant less interactive environment (Good looking but boring in gameplay) With the new tech, that can change.

Bad Company's 2 destructible buildings and R6 Sieges walls are awesome bits of additional gameplay mechanics. It's hard to camp when everything explodes.

I own it, we used to play it back in the game. At the time I was very much into CoD so the low-damage guns were very frustrating (I remember the MG3 being a 10-hit kill). Also vehicles were very OP and helicopters difficult to control.

Really liked using the drone though, that was a lot of fun. Maybe I ought to give the game another go.

Still think it'd be better with buy mechanics, though :D .

The problem with buy mechanics is that it could create a compounding winner effect, where the 'last team suddenly superman' comeback wins are less likely.

If the buy mechanics were a credit system that slowly topped up (independent of winning/losing status), that might allow for more fair gameplay.

Also BC2 is terrible and hasn't aged well.

Hmm, I'm not sure I agree. I think it's fairer if it's within the same match because then the amount of credits at t=0 is equal to everyone.

Also let's be honest, we had plenty of comeback wins in NS2, and I've also had them in Renegade, so I definitely know that's not true. I assume comeback wins are also possible in CSGO.

In MW2? Kniferunning was very effective against inexperienced players, but never OP-level effective against skilled opponents that knew there was a kniferunner about. Still never should've been a viable primary weapon, though. MW2019 did melee a lot better.

The battle in the Brovarsky district - a top view. The Armed Forces of Ukraine claim they knocked out the first and last tank, after which they destroyed the entire convoy of Russian equipment. : CombatFootage (reddit.com)

I am no military expert but i think some amateur shit going on in Russian military atm, they seem to be simply spamming units :pnd:

Yep, MW2. Depends on the map. I sniped on that open fields map. and knifed through Favela. After a hundred match or so, i got quite efficient with knifing and using grenade launcher. Hell, i knew exactly which arc should i aim with at the start to kill people without seeing them :P Asshole move, but was fun to get called hacker for it |8

Goddamn it was fun even with random players. Wish i get back to those times...

MW2 was far from perfect, but it was still an excellent game. A mix of CoD 4 and MW2, with just a little dash of MW3, would make for an almost ideal arcade shooter.

Also, guy with a DP-27 from almost a century ago showing up in a video showcasing brand-new NLAW missile launchers from the UK  . (1:56 onwards)

I am curious what would have happened if he was president atm. ww3 already started by now or he lets Russia take half of Europe aswell.
(considering he ordered a drone strike on a high ranking general of Iran, i can't be sure)
