Each Roman numeral'd game is a completely different story, with different characters, different setting and in a completely different universe. As General said, there are often a few common things such as

- Chocobos (big, flightless birds you can ride like a horse)
- Moogles (Little white creatures that say kupo a lot)
- A guy named Cid

But otherwise are completely unrelated.

There will sometimes be direct sequels however, such as FFX-2 is a sequel to FFX.

I do want to play it again some point. I remember liking it at the time.

Maybe once I finish FFX-2 I'll tackle that one next.

I loved that game so much that i wanted to mod it at some point (wanted to make skins better in resolution and different for some)

I succeded to learn changing skins and making them appear in game (way too hard) But gave up when i realized it would take like 10 years to do it for entire game

If this wasn't the first new single player FF after FFX I definitely would have liked it/remembered it more, but it was just completely overshadowed for me.

Interesting, so that's why they can make so many sequels. I only ever played the very first one, and only for a tiny bit.

Also, it's interesting how they can go from so cute and cuddly-looking to demonically terrifying .
