Firstly, there are definitely some technical issues with the game... Although I've encountered far less than your average AAA game, so I can't complain too much. The most jarring thing I noticed recently is they seem to have a variable refresh rate thing going on with certain objects. There a scene where automated forklifts were driving around and the frame rate of the trucks was appalling unless I was looking directly at them. Overall the visuals are pretty good though.
One of things I noticed immediately was how ridiculously tiny subtitles and some UI elements are. This will probably be less of an issue on PC when, but at one point I literally had to get up and walk right in front of my TV to see that I was supposed to be pressing up on the d-pad to listen to the audio recording. Some of the prompts also aren't that clear... I failed the tutorial stealth take down because I only pressed the button prompt rather than repeatedly press (I think?) and by the time I realised what I was supposed to be doing the enemy started attacking me.
I tried not to look into things too much before getting the game, but the impression I got from trailers was soviet Bioshock with a healthy dose of Fallout, and that seems to be pretty accurate. You have a sci-fi glove that basically gives you powers. The first attack power you get is electricity and you also start out with an axe as your main weapon. Very Bioshock 1. The whole intro was "look how cool this place is - oops everything went to shit" which reminded me a lot of Bioshock Infinite.
The gameplay has taken a little getting used to. Like I said, you start out with an Axe, so it's been mostly melee combat and learning when to dodge, etc, but I'm starting to get used to it. There's also been a bit of stealth, although it's not mandatory (so far). I've found a couple of guns, but very little animation and not much of a reason to use them, so I've generally avoided them so far.
