I liked KF2, just a shame there was never a mac port that we could play at work games nights. D:

It was very satisfying, it's just that Tripwire didn't understand how the mechanics came together in the original. They made some fundamental changes that kind of fucked up the pace of the gameplay.

It's an easy mistake to make; the addition of players running means monsters had to be able to run as well and this in turn led to a run-and-gun based gameplay rather than a stick-and-hold one like in the first game, which was much more fun. eventually there was a mod for KF2 that fixed this, even. I've seen loads of comments in the announcements that pine for more KF1-like gameplay so I think there's good hope.

Even despite that though we've clocked quite a few hours in KF2. The gunplay is immensely satisfying, and the reloads.... *chef's kiss*

Fair point, although when I played, most of the time I just sat in a defensible spot and shot until the cows come home like in KF1. I only ran for the trader and when the big ones come

The run and gun thing annoyed the crap out of me, also the weapons and people skins weren't all that cool in the second one. And for what ever reason I really likes how there was that haze effect in the first one to make darker maps seem spookier
