I'm now assuming I need a new system for this. This one I've got is as far as it'll go (save for a sound card, but how much does that do except ehhance my listening experience!). If my brother comes back home, though, I'll have a better system...

aww man you need direct x 10 for this?

guess that means ill have to get vista...

It is a guess for the requirement of dx 10, but maybe cnc 3 will be the last of the higher end games that will be on XP. Hopefully...

i seriously doubt they would cut of XP support sence vista will not become mainstream for few years

well my computer specs are at recommended level
i dont have direct x10 though, but it would be stupid for them to make it vista only

Yay... My computer is above the reccomended specs (on par with teh 6800GT for vid card) EXCEPT for DX10... theres only two vid cards that support DX10 and those are the 8800GTS and the 8800GTX by nvidia. It doesn't matter, my dad owes me over 1000 dollars in computer parts, so when the time comes, I'll build a new computer... and m current one is gonna become my dads computer.

Hopefully this will work:

AMD Athlon 64 3800+ X2
Geforce 7950 GT 512MB
3 Gigabyte RAM

iam not sure so far

Won't ATI and Nvidia provide drivers for the current vid cards to run Directx 10?

@Vidar- that comp is kick ass. the only problem is the directx 10 possibility.

ATi and nVidia will probably make drivers for current cards that will support DirectX 10, but not for old ones like my 9600 Pro.

Well at least I am set. ATI X600 256 MB Hypermemory. Heck Yes.

Some updates on this front. PC Gamer is saying the sys requirements are as follows:

Minimum: P4 1.8GHz, 512MB RAM, 8GB HD space, DX9.0c 64MB graphic card with 8X DVD ROM.

Recommended: P4 2.4GHz, 1GB RAM, 128 MB video card.

This isn't bad, but there's a few things to clarify from the thread.

DX10 is not required, and as far as I know that's still Vista-only. DirectX 9.0c is required, but it's unknown if your card needs Shader Model 3 to play the game. If that's the case, I'm screwed and I need a new computer right now.

nVIDIA has built it's cards with Shader 3 since the 6-series, but only the X1k Radeon cards have Shader 3.

I used to have it, until my pc was gone this morning. But, on the bright side, in 1-2 weeks I'll have a computer high above those requirements .

CPU, RAM, and HDD space isn't the problem. Its just the Shader Model 3 Issue 'cause I have a ATI X600

I'm with you, Atlantis. I'm praying Shader 3 isn't required, but if it is I'm ordering that new machine then and there.

Question: Is the ATI X600 better or worse than an ATI Radeon Express 200? Im assuming yes because its probably short for X200. Crap.

I'm hoping that it won't need Shaders at all.

well imagine my predicament.

I am hoping to play this on a
P4 1.7Ghz
256 MB 266mhz DDR Ram
on a hard drive that doesn't have more then 6 GB of free space on any of the partitions
and a GeForce FX 5200 128mb

Boy i am just screwed with this game.

CC3 uses shaders a lot of shaders so u need a DX9 + card that can render shaders. like GF6800+
and ati x600+
