HEy anyone know where I can find the .BIG extractor that was mentioned in the "Tools you need" topic in modding tutorials. I just started and made a couple models but want to finish them with skinning first and than bone them. It said it was in the utilities page but... I dont know where that is. :cry:

The most common extractors are Finalbig and the XCC-Mixer.

You can either use the XCC-Mixer to export textures as .tga (right-click -> export as .tga) or use the dds-plugin for Photoshop (Google is your friend) or the freeware tool DXTBmp to convert it to .tga .

The .dds is a compressed texture-format that includes both alpha-channel and mip-maps (there are dds-types that might not include one of these in order to improve quality or lower the file-size). Generally, they load faster, take less memory capacity and also improve game-performance a bit.

You can, if you use DXTBmp or Photoshop-plugin after exporting. :loels:

Have a look at my second post. :loels:

DXTBmp is a freeware tool that allows you to edit various file formats like .dds, .tga and others. The Photoshop-plugin is a tool released by NVidia that adds .dds export/eimport functions to Photoshop.

And who the hell edited my post? :loels:

Ok. So I downloaded that. Now do I extract the textures from the ZH folder with FinalBIG(already did that but when I went to open them with Dxtbmp it didnt find any of them even ones that were already .tga or the .dds alltogether). Need some more help with this. Anyone wanna give me step by step info? Wait I think I figured it out. I go to browse for images with Dxtbmp after extracting them with FinalBIG to a folder and than save them in the same folder. What does .tga stand for again? Cause im trying to save my thing now after browsing for it but I dont know with which to save it with.

.tga is Targa file format. DXTBmp uses the extended format that includes an Alpha-channel (Targa with Alpha).

I personally just edit it in Finalbig and save it, but if you want to edit it in notebook, just save it and when you've done that, go back to INIZH and go EDIT>ADD FILE and select your file :D

Problem is , I can't edit directly in Finalbig , also another problem is ( which is bigger ) ;

I edit Particle Systems but I can't send and save it to INI directory because when you click it , nothing happens , and I can't edit INI file directly in Notebook :D
