I am also trying to construct a proper timeline between each event and the future events that will unfold. But in the mean time, I wish to talk about[TRANSMISSION ENDED BY O5 COMMAND]
ATTN: STATUS 'RAYBURN'
TO: USAFRICOM, USAFRICOM, USEUCOM, USPACOM, USNORTHCOM, USSOUTHCOM, NORAD, NSA, CIA, FEMA, Nevada National Guard
At approximately 0430 hours NASA has issued a general warning to satellite operators of 8 objects ranging from 50m to 700m in diameter traveling at extreme speeds being detected and initial trajectory estimation has concluded that it remnants of this mass of debris will reach higher Earth orbit by 0600 and narrowly miss entering Earth orbit.
Between 0450 to 0510 NSA and CIA informed STRATCOM of intercepting highly encrypted radio traffic in Asia, Eurasia and Europe as satellite operators engage to divert space borne assets.
However, at approximately 0523 NASA contacted USSPACECOM informing that the detected objects have strayed from the predicted course and will make a direct impact into the Pacific Ocean near Bikini Atoll at 0610. Emergency procedures have been activated and at 0528 NSA and CIA informed NORAD to divert all air traffic away from the predicted impact site. 4 F-22s scrambled to patrol the no-fly zone.
At 0532 NASA issued a encrypted message showing that all but one object was rapidly veering off the expected impact zone. Land borne and space borne assets deployed within area show objects to be not of Earth or organic origin. CIA and NSA signals show that Tokyo station, Greenland station and Russian Federal Space Agency all confirm NASA findings. Objects deemed to be or contain sentient beings, objects designated Rayburn 1 to 8. NASA broadcasts emergency preset informing alien crafts to identify their origins. No response. Rayburn 5-8 hovers in high Earth orbit. Message to identify origins broadcast 4 times before all craft-ward transmission were jammed. Jamming method unidentified.
Rayburn 1-3 continue their course towards Bikini Atoll but stop at high orbit for a duration of 10 minutes (0555 to 0605). F-22 pilots report visual siting of alien craft.Rayburn 1-3 are reported to rapidly change directions and attempt to leave orbit, 2 F-22 Raptor pilot notes that Rayburn 3 is trailing behind and believed to be trailing purple smoke.
At 0613 Rayburn 3 rapidly veers off course from group and descends to 10,000 feet. Craft then proceeds to evade flanking F-22s at supersonic speeds, all radar and visual contact is lost at 0615.
A unidentified craft has been believed to have crashed in Nevada at 0800. Craft believed to be Rayburn 3. Press statement from NASA informs public of NORAD air-defence drill.
All Regional Commands have been raised to DEFCON 3 with exception of USPACOM, USNORTHCOM to be raised to DEFCON 2 until further notice.

"Commander, how is the salvage operation proceeding?" General Alexander asked through the intercom. "I need you to tell me everything you found on the wreck before the CIA fuckwits and the Army gets here." She looked at the watch, the CIA operations and Army inspection team were well on their way and any chance of salvaging anything of use would be lost. Ever since budgeting got cut, the Navy brass have all shyed away from procuring any land warfare system the Marines couldn't personally finance themselves.
"Ma'am, we have found what we believe to be a transponder of non-Earth origins. Should we disable it?" The salvage crew held up what seemed to be a spherical orb. "Geiger counters are going off like crazy! What happened?!"
"Put the transponder back, they would've known the craft crashed by now. It was on our radars and they had more than one of those damn Rayburns this time. I wouldn't be surprised if they crashed it this time to see what we would do." Alexander replied, slightly worried whether or not the 3 inches of lead lead would block out the dangerous radiation. She frowned as she looked through the glass as the salvage crew hastily replaced the sphere back into the into the craft. The Geiger counters stopped going off.
"It seems to be self defence mechanism, making sure whoever takes it out improperly doesn't make it too far." Chief scientist Dr. Ash remarked as he tapped his pencil against a clipboard impatiently as he stared at the craft. "Commander, check the side compartment, see what they keep with the crew." The Commander nodded and disappeared into the craft again, moments passed before he emerged with two additional salvage crew behind him carrying a large crate.
"There's a lot of stuff in there, this crate is just the tip of the mountain there. I suspect there's a additional room behind there that the first scan missed. I just tasked another team to search for any other high value items, Team 3 also found the finally dismantled the main gun, we're replacing it with the damaged one from Rayburn 0 right now. With any luck, the CIA team won't suspect a thing."
Alexander let out a rare smile, "Have the team ship it to out....wait, what the-?" Alexander stopped as she stared as smoke poured out of the crate.
"Drop the fucking crate! Artifact critical! All teams retreat from the craft!" Dr. Ash barked into the intercom before he got pushed aside Alexander.
"Disregard Dr.Ash's order, you are to continue with your mission with caution. Time is of the essence." She turned towards Dr. Ash, "The good of the many outweighs the good of the one, Doctor. I hope you remember that. If you continue with your reckless behavior, I will have to confine you to your quarters. Have I made myself clear?"
"Yes Ma'am." Dr Ash mumbled as he gripped his clipboard tightly in anger as he turned around and headed for the observation post to greet the Army inspection team's arrival. He sighed, 20 years as a esteemed scientist, another 12 covertly working at the CIA analyzing confiscated enemy weapons and personally recruited by General Alexander herself to 'The Foundation'. He was promised his work was to be to forward the human race into a new era, to bring peace and stability. Now he faced being kept underground in his quarters in the middle of a unknown island. "Pathetic." The Doctor spat on the floor stared idly through the windows of the observation post as the Army Chinooks approached from the horizon. "Maybe they'll be surprised at how advanced laser weaponry can get..." Dr Ash raised an eyebrow as he contemplated the potential fallout of his actions. "Maybe it's time to look for a new boss."

He continued, "The news came in from a rather unlikely way, as nobody brought a TV or could listen to the radio above the sound of cannons and gun fire anyway but the manager yelled for us to stop over the megaphone and we knew something was wrong already, almost everyone on the firing line were suddenly fumbling for their phones, which we ignored since most of us were busy burning through ammo like, most of us took the message took it surprisingly calm, the grins they just sported replaced with shocked expressions and for some, anger and determination. Some of the men quietly walked to their families to lead them away, several Reservists, Airmen and National Guardsmen that were in the place drove off to report to their base. There was this guy Carrow, I think he was a Lance Corporal back at the time, a SAW gunner he told me. Poor guy was on leave when shit hit the fan, come to think of it I didn't know where he was from..." Mr Stukov sighed and grabbed a donut. "Good man, he was but I never knew what happened to him though, never heard from him since. Last time I heard from him was that he was getting shipped into New York, right in the thick of it. But the American High Command fucked up, they were unprepared to fight an enemy that did not have a leader, a clear goal or any sort of central command. Each unit's tactics, equipment, operating method were slightly different and varied vastly between each of ship they landed in. The GLA, or 'terrorists' as the media called it were basically what we called the 'Fedayeen' back then weren't exactly without morals but the tactics they used completely put the civilian population at risk, hiding in suburbs and apartments." Finishing his donut, Alexei reached for a cigar but then decided against it.
"The Federation looked and laughed when the USMC decided against shooting at the Empire State building even when they knew it was overrun by the GLA. Because it was such a landmark, the USMC lost almost a a whole company of men trying to take the building back. Back in Russia, we would've just burnt the building to the ground and build a new one, a better one when the war was over. Silly Americans, with their ideals, morals and political leaders."
"As I was saying, I was back in Knob Creek back then and it was quite fun looking at how Americans reacted to the news but to be honest and I am quite honest with you, I was extremely impressed. You're...civilians, family men, white-collar, blue collar workers all seemed be born soldiers when a crisis hits home. The few ex-servicemen that were there rallied those willing to fight and refused those with families. It was all very American, you could say as it was certainly something that didn't happen in Europe or any other nation I've been to. It was at the point, that I knew the GLA already lost, the GLA's goal was to break their America's spirit, to pave the way for the Federation to expand unhindered but I guess we underestimated the Yankees, when America faces a challenge, it will rise to the challenge and overcome it - I guess that's one of those very American ideals that only a old Communist like me would find amusing." He sipped his coffee again, grinning as he does so.
"Ah, America, land of the free and the only country on Earth where your common man is allowed to own cannons and crew served weapons that no other country would dream of giving to anyone less than a soldier. I was thankful though, as that minigun have saved my skin more than once!" He rolled up his sleeve to show a long scar on his forearm. "One of those rebels almost got me his AK-74, the first one grazed me, right there." He pointed to the scar. "But I guess his gun jammed or one way or another but I all I knew was that I was still alive when I opened my eyes, that crazy fucker with the minigun on a pintle mount on a SUV. How he got to get a mount for his minigun I never asked. It never really struck me that the odd bunch of gun nuts from Knob Creek would do much, well, not until the crazy fuck with the mini gun showed up. Later, it turns out that most of them lived near where the fighting happened and most of them got attached to the units sent there since they knew the place like the back of their hands, which gave them the advantage. The few that didn't get excepted banded together as a civilian militia, it was quite a respectable one too. The National Guard even loaned them a few of those humvees and body-armour they had lying around, they didn't need the equipment as much as they needed manpower. Most of the guys were driving humvees except for the crazy guy with the minigun SUV. Naturally, I embedded with them, well they extended an invitation to me to tag along with them for a 'road trip to New York'. The men were armed with a multitude of non-US military equipment. I shared my trip with one of the tamer ones, a little man who used to work as a lawyer had a SIG 556, a Gulf War II vet who called himself Sgt. Rhos manned our Mk. 19, which was owned by some guy in Knob Creek who loaned it out to people since he had a family of his own. Sgt Rhos had an M4, quiet guy, kept to himself so I never knew much about him. The last guy who was with us was a completely nutjob, giving everyone callsigns and talking like he was in the Spetsnaz, quite comical now that I think of it but it grated on our nerves back then. He went to war with a old Mosin Nagant, a Luger and Thompson." He paused and looked at the clock as it chimed, it was one in the morning.
"I better not keep you, it's getting late." He paused as he stood up and shook hands with me. "Oh, give me a second, I think you're going to find this useful." He winks as he disappeared upstairs and reappeared later with a manifest. "In here, you will find the exact detail of what was on those cargo ships, every crew, every gun, every tank, down to the where the tanks were originally produced. Why do I have this manifest? Simple, I sold them to the GLA."
Completed~
Same old, same old. Read and review, although I think this one is still a bit rough around the edges.

2009:
October - General Leang rises to power and leads the 38th Group Army, stationed in the ares around Beijing. In the PLA Parade on October 1st, the PLZ-12 (codename "Hammer Cannon") is first shown in public.
November - The first TOS-1s from Russia are delivered to China.
2010:
May - As Iraq progresses towards being a true independent nation, the AfPak situation deteriates. President Asif Ali Zardari steps down from power after a bloodless coup backed by the military takes power.
June - President Asif Ali Zardari is arrested for 'Crimes against the Muslim people of Pakistan' during his attempt to leave the country to seek asylum in Hong Kong, concluding in a show-trail where he is executed on live television.
July - In a heated United Nations meeting discussing the AfPak issue, NATO makes clear that it wants nothing to do with Pakistan, leaving the US to handle the situation along with a handful of European allies. GLA units under the the disguise as Pakistani paramilitary and insurgent groups battle the US led coalition near the AfPak border.
September - As support for a slow but winning situation, the remaining European allies return home as the public cannot stomach such a long period of low intensity asymmetrical warfare, leaving the US desperate for allies in the region.
December - In a second United Nations summit meeting, both China and Russia volunteered to send military advisers to the region. The US accuses Russia of selling arms to the GLA, leading Russia to withdraw their initial support.
2011:
March - Several PLA units land in Pakistan's shore and are immediately greeted by hostiles. In the 'Battle for Raas Muari', several GLA crewed torpedo boats sink several PLAAN landing crafts, killing approximately 1000 PLA military advisers.
April - In response to the surprise attack at Rass Murari, PLA units sent a battalion of experimental Dragon Tanks commanded by Colonel Kwai to raze the city of Karachi, block by block. Although this has caused international outrage, Colonel Kwai was promoted towards General status and return to China to as head of a yet to be disclosed Group Army strength unit.
July - In a strange twist of events, the GLA has managed to bribe and bully enough local manufacturers to churn out lightly armored tankettes with a strong resemblance to relic WWII Italian tanks. Intelligence reports of these units being easily taken out by concentrated small-arms fire and hand-held anti-tank weaponry but the emergence of these units has caused severe headaches to commanders who found their Humvee being outmatched in terms of armor and firepower.
November - The now named 'Scorpion' tanks have now made a name for themselves, with wheeled variations and ones armed with Soviet-era wire-guided ATGM doing devastating runs on US supply convoys. The M8 'Crusader' series is hurried into production to fight this new threat.
December - In the early morning of the 21st, Rayburn 3 crash lands in the Nevada Desert, immediate research on potential new technology starts. China and Russian agents separately gain access to some confidential file of US origin.
2012 -
January: A terrorist attack on an airliner kills General Townes. The assassination of President Obama from a unknown gunmen from a grassy knoll.
November: First contact from the owners of Rayburn 3. Rayburn 0 now renamed to 'Ghostrider 0'
December: Apocalypse, most of the Congress and high level officials are wiped out by a massive solar flare, detected first by Russia but picked up too late by the US. The entire East Coast becomes "The Capital Wasteland" due to a deadly breach in the ozone layer leading to dangerous amounts of UV radiation and other hazards.
2013 -
January: EU is intrigued by the effects of deadly solar flares and launches a study into its affects on Earth.
May: With the amount of scrap and abandoned military vechiles parked out in the Middle East due to the low-scale but continuous warfare, Iran has managed to build something called the 'Marauder' tank. A complete indigenous design, it was designed to fight the Crusader with varying degrees of sucess. Many other Middle Eastern and African countries plan to purchase manufacturing license for these easy to build but somewhat sturdy tanks for 'internal security'.
2015-
May - Agent E.V.E finds something unusual while working in the Middle East
November - A GLA plot to detonate a nuke in Spain to wreck NATO and US supply lines to Northern Africa is foiled, by Russia selling them the failed nuclear device.
2016 - Rise of the Reds
2017 - The Caviar war
2018 - General Tao is assassinated in front of the Tienanmen Square, General Leang covertly takes over and no public statement is issued.
WIP~
2019 - Nuke on China

An interesting timeline. Some of the events seem a little far-fetched (such as that solar flare - it's a bit inexplicable TBH, though I assume you have further plans for it), and personally I find the inclusion of member names distracting, but the explanations of GLA armoured developments are great, as are the links to real-world events and contemporary issues.

How is it distracting, instead of coming up with completely unrelated names, I have a treasure chest of awesome and cool names right here? Beats generic ones which bear no meaning to most of the group. I mean, the Overdose Directive does have a nice ring to it.
And Re: Caviar War,
As Russia grows, so does its economy and the wealth of the people, the nation looks forward to the ex-Soviet states that surround the Caspian Sea and their natural resources, with the rare exception of Iran. In response to ever diminishing fishing stocks, environmental crises as wild non captive bred Sturgeon numbers drop to approximately 1% of their original population and a bid to 'preserve Russian culture'. Russia bold claims all Sturgeon offspring that currently are in the Caspian Sea as Russian National Treasures since in a environmental study done in 2014 concluded, no sturgeon in the Caspian are not a indirect descendant of those raised in the fish labs and research stations around the Volga. Using this as an excuse, Russian military units seize large portions of other nations to prevent the 'dangers of overfishing the Sturgeon population for the production of caviar for the black market." This move has effectively returned the last and only remaining commerically viable wild cavier population into a monopoly held by the Russian Federation. Just as it always has been since the time of Czars and then the Reds.

"You know, whoever named this must not have thought it out very clear." The captain of the GLA torpedoboat muttered as he looked at the map. "I absolutely understand why it would be a great moral boost for us to codename the enemy harbor 'Failure', but I don't think they understand how we do things out in the seas..or on the field."
The First Mate, trying to suppress the grin on his face tried his best to reply, "Maybe they thought it was funny but I guess the mistake was an honest one, leave it to the shieks and mullahs to name our battleplans - not like we can do anything about it."
It seemed the news has gotten out to the crew, as somewhere on the boat, the sounds of several sailors laughing so loud their voices drowned out that of the engine. The First Mate looked at the Captain again, "So, we go according to plan?"
The Captain shrugged and looked at the map again. "Yes, we set course for Fail."

“If fighting is sure to result in victory, then you must fight!” Kassad declared as he stood on top of a Cobra light-tank as his men cheered and waved their weapons high in the air. The usual wild spraying of bullets did not go through though, as they knew full well that any man armed and firing wildly on a battlefield is going to attract unwanted attention “And we will expect nothing less than total victory against those that oppose us from achieving independence!” The men cheered again but not as loudly this time, as they were reminded of why they had to fight this time, this was no longer a war against foreign aggression but one of internal independence, where the enemy had once been comrades in the past before Dr Thrax’s unfortunate death as his own command centre crumbled and crushed him.
As a result, a power vacuum has developed within the high command of GLA forces worldwide, from the separatist forces in Albania to the insurgent forces of Zimbabwe, warlords and field commanders were all now questioning what to do next now that there was no clear goal. Kassad originally thought he understood why he was fighting, he thought it was for his fellow brothers, for their future but with Dr Thrax dead, he wasn’t so sure what he was doing was the right thing anymore. The toxin loving general’s death has given Kassad time to reflect and it had so far not been a pleasant experience for him. Infiltration, military espionage and hit-and run tactics were one thing but as the war progressed, GLA high command’s orders became more and more drastic, targets slowly drifted from just American and Chinese oppressors to those who worked for them and slowly Kassad found himself targeting mostly the families of suspected collaborators and just anyone that could pay a ransom.
Prince Kassad smiled and waved again at his men, leaning against the barrel of the tank. The men were anxious to fight, if they won today, they could lay down their weapons and go back to their families and perhaps start a new life, one that didn’t involve making a living by causing destruction and death. His men had been loyal, following orders than would’ve made men question their existence, his most trusted lieutenants and commanders, some of which were killed or captured had taken their secrets to the grave. Although most of them secretly were outraged by the political assassinations and damage to the infrastructure - power lines and water treatment plants, most of which also provided their own families with lights and clean water were destroyed under the orders of GLA command, not once have they voiced any discontent towards him. For a prince and a warlord, what better men could he wish for?
But it was not the time to be sentimental, more than a few good men and trusted subordinates would die under his command by the end of the day. In retrospect, Juhziz’s move to move his base of operations outside the Gulf and into Africa, allying himself with warlords and dictators with connections to both Russia and China was a great move, if only he had taken his offer and joined with him.
“War, war never changes.” Kassad whispered to himself as he climbed off the Cobra tank and back into his camouflaged command centre.
How did you like it? Please review!
