Yeah, good idea. I always enjoyed this topic.

IF no-one guessed it in a significant timespan, anyone feel free to post a new one instead.

I'll start it off again with an easy one:

Painkiller? or was it Painkiller Ressurection? It looks better than the "normal" Painkiller...

Painkiller: Battle out of Hell :P . The weapon on the screen (which shoots basically five stakes into someone) is introduced in that expansion. The alt-fire shoots ten bouncy balls which pretty much annihilate everything.

Well, I ment "Battle out of Hell" with "Normal", I wasn't aware that it was an expansion, I though it was the "sidename", like "Tiberian Wars" on "CNC3" :P

I know that gun, And I love it.

I want to say HIND, but I know it's a different simulator. Looks similar though.

FYI, the game I posted was the PS1 game 'Dead Ball Zone'. It was a sport set in the future where you had to throw the (hover)ball into the opponents goal... the twist being you also had weapons such as bombs and chainsaws. If you hurt someone enough they threw up. Oh, and did I mention one of the teams were clowns? Now that is how to make a game. :P

No... about the only thing common with this and freelancer is the fact you shoot other spaceships, this is strictly mission based, although there are space racing missions that the racing mission in freelancer reminded me of a lot

edit: I suppose another hint is in order: It's set in the 27th century

Maybe "Star Quest I: in the 27th Century" is too unknown... it's what introduced me to the space sim genre.

Anyway, this should be a lot better known one:
