New DoW expansion coming?

RaiDK's Photo RaiDK 27 Sep 2007

Why? There's some pretty cool flying stuff they could put in.

i agree with teh killer all units are groundbased and airborne units could affect the gameplay which we are all used to.

For me, I'm more interesting single player campaign. It's better than Dark Crusade.

Quote

The new single player campaign centers around a new star system that has attracted all the races to the area when a warp storm traps them within the system and will only subside when their is only one race left.

The campaign will be similar to Dark Crusade in the sense that it is like a meta map, but instead of focusing on the one planet, Soul Storm will allow you to fight over the entire system. This includes 4 planets and their moons. Missions are hinted at be better than they were in Dark Crusade, hopefully less skrimishy missions.

Yes the campaign sounds awesome, just how I thought it might be :pimp:

Also, im also in agreedment with 'killer and hunter, what I liked DoW the most is that it was mostly ground based combat, adding air units might just add the shitty "lets race to get the air units - oh wait you have none, I win"

I doubt it. To me it looks like they'll just work like vehicles that aren't affected by terrain (And probably can't be melee'd)

Judging by how hyped you guys are over this, I assume it's a good game.

I've had the opportunity to play DoW on my friend's computer and let me tell you Soul, it IS a great game. You have to know what you're doing, but the game is set up to never be boring. It keeps you thinking and makes you think. The sides are balanced, except for those pesky "never-say-die" Necrons :pimp: .

Btw, the C'Tan really ARE the definition of evil. Just read what they did to get humans to follow them. It's far worse than what Horus did.

I wud say only zooks and AA vehicles....also this would be a bit screwed up for the IG and SM as they can hardly afford more than 3-4 vehicles due to their cost of the vehicle slots and now theyre gonna have to waste it on AA vehicles too

only zooks and AA vehicles will screwed some races is more reason to assume what RaiDK is true, all range infantry can fire at aircraft, but only are really good some weapons and vehicles

Sweet, I have to get this game and try it.

ummm you dont need a powerfull graph card to run it....ive got the lame 9250 Radeon (it doesnt even have pixel shaders 2.0)

IPS's Photo IPS 28 Sep 2007

yea that's right DOW is one of the best progged games ever it has an amazing graph and realy low hardware requisition (or what ever it's called in english)

Alias's Photo Alias 28 Sep 2007

Soul, I ran it on a 933mhz Pentium 2 with an GeForce4MX. If THAT can run it. Anything can.

My current computer runs it on medium-high with no lag (this is using an integrated card).

Dark Eldar units and buildings look wonderfully sadistic/masochistic. And air units? *Gasp*

I like how Relic has the moxie to add another expansion to a game that is like 3 years old. I'm running my DOW on medium settings with a 1.8 GHZ Pentium IV with a GeForce 2 MX400. If a GeForce 2 can run it, virtually anything can.

They're probably going to have to drastically change game balancing again.

WAAAAGH!!!!!

^ i hope not with every expansion the gameplay was drasticly changed but to be honest i find the ballance and gameplay in DC just about perfect as there is no single unit spamming (no effective one that is) and ballance wise everything seems to work out aswell.

Necron Warriors > All other infantry :D
Quote

The_Hunter's Photo The_Hunter 30 Sep 2007

pfff RaiDK i suggest you play with the latest patch against some HARD ai before you make any silly remarks like that :D

Necron warriors are only good at wasting basic infantry or when fully reinforced they can take on heavier stuff but otherwise they are pretty slow and weak to plasma rifles or dedicated melee units.
