Well, RA2 had wierd animals so I wouldn't bother having some in RA3. But melee units I wish not. Melee units don't fit the C&C universe.

I really like those first screenshots! I love how they bring back the comic style of RA2! Of course Navy is a must for Red Alert and those amphibious battleships is a very neat idea! Also TESLA YEAH.

Sounds like the Northern Lights to me.
Bears I can take, but if the frickin' Laser Samurais actually exist, then I will throw my self of a very large building.
And they havent officially said anything about the Empire bieng Japan despite the Rising Sun part, but it could well be an alliance of far eastern countries, or something else, so wait and see.

EDIT: Despite my own negative approach towrd this game, I must admitt, it does look friggin sweet.

The game has been officially announced today, any talk about an expansion, let alone its content, is pure speculation without any reason at the moment.

Great. So now we can have another raging debate over whether, at some point, the RA series could link to the Tib series.

Also, it seems a bit like UAW or SupCom now.

Japan = Novus or Aeon
Allies = Masari or UEF
Soviets = Hierarchy or Cybran

And if they put in epic units I'll be pissed.

It does look as if the naval stuff will play an even bigger role- something the C&C games have been missing for too long.

@Soho: The whole game was unbalanced, but Yuri was by far the worst. (This does not mean, however cool it may have been, that the Prism Tanks were any bit balanced.) I mean, Yuri was fine in his more supporting role in RA2, but when you got to YR it was just fucked up.

As another side note, Tanya'll be an old hag at this point. But who knows. They'll figure out some way to be able to annoy the hell out of us with "SHAKE IT BABY" for another game.

And also, I liked the seriousness of RA1, I liked the campy sci-fi that was RA2, and honestly, they could, for all I care, remake RA2 as a serious story.

well, since the soviet changed story is one of this:
A-psiquic experiments never get completed in the alternative timeline->no Yuri
B-is killed by the soviet commandos because it can be a future thread
C-is alive

IMO a balance yuri will be sweet for another fraction
