I has Kane's Wrath!

Kichō's Photo Kichō 31 Mar 2008

Now this amazes me...The KW worldbuilder says 2006 when the game was just released?

Strange....

It's not strange. It's game manufacturers cutting corners for profit. Lately, all games I bought have had massive balance or bug issues.

You want to know what's OP? The, as Match puts it, M.A.R.V.ester. An entire Tiberium field gone in a couple of minutes. It pays for itself and then some, and I'm all for G.D.I.! I have to agree with Zhen Ji, however. Out of all epic units, the Redeemer just sucks. The only saving grace is spending that $3000 stealth power on it then equipping it with two Black Hand, then hope to god it becomes Heroic before you can call it a waste.

As a person who prefers the single player, I am hugely disappointed with the game. I'm sure multi play is the usual spam fest, since that's all I did in the Nod campaign. I was thoroughly expecting to play as the Steel Talons in the campaign. I guess I should have expected "Kane's Wrath" to be particularly one sided. Skirmish just bored the heck out of me.

I thought it was just a very early build of the Worldbuilder they put in which they forgot to remove, noticed the old 3 of the C&C3 icon? It doesn't even load for me. (''Did you forget to build data?'')

I finally have it too and i am almost through the campaign.

I really like it for all the additions they made and the subfactions.

The epic units are really cool and i love that you can combine them with infantry in all kinds of ways, although imo the rocket launcher addition is way to weak and should recieve a rof bonus.
The redeemer is a little underpowered because it has a too low rof (or the lasers should fire longer). Combine it with the stealthfield and use the double power when attack combined with its rage generator and you can own anyone.

It's a bit sad that the campaign only focuses on nod and filling the gaps for them, but that was to be expected.
Who knows, maybe they'll release another add-on which fills the gaps for the gdi storyline, for example how they research all the shockwave technology and the marv.

The M.A.R.V. has it's own data sheet, I didn't bother reading it. As for the shockwave technology, it was developed to shatter Tiberium crystals from afar, and eliminate large portions of fields.

The Wolverine would have looked so much cooler if it got gattling cannons with the AP upgrade.

Kichō's Photo Kichō 01 Apr 2008

^ But you can only garrison 4 infantry in the MARV?

nova's Photo nova 01 Apr 2008

since each inf counts as an upgrade there are ways to get all of those :)

And the rage generator also turns other Epic Units against you.

what? now we want to nerf the redeemer because is overpowered? ;)

also the rage generator either afect turrets too or the turrets attack automatical the "raged" units
Quote

WARthog's Photo WARthog 01 Apr 2008

that the redeemers rage generator turns really every unit against it's allies is the only thing that equals it with the hexapod and the marv. That was also the only way i could defeat the hero hexapod in the campaign. man i put up obelisks and defences and shatterers but if hadnt turned on the rage and made it eat its own tropps, it would have owned me.

Enraged units automaticly turn hostile, making your turrets attack the enraged men/women.

and not only is epics and commandos enraged make it op it makes as much sense as how the tib gets from the marv to silos since commandos are the eliet troops

RaiDK's Photo RaiDK 05 Apr 2008

It's not OP. It's the only thing that makes the Redeemer worth using.
Quote

nova's Photo nova 06 Apr 2008

it makes it op to kill a 5000 + credit unit in one shot plus all other units used to take it down

I noticed something interesting earlier...

The GDI Steel Talons' Repair APC drone can repair structures. Oo

There is no mention of it in the manual so I am suspecting it is a bug or a nice, unique feature.

That's full of win!

Do you think EA will make more expansions?

I don't think their going to let the franchise die.
Quote

Rayburn's Photo Rayburn 06 Apr 2008

After this kind of cliffhanger-ending, there must be a sequel, be it an expansion or a new game.
I'm inclined to expect the latter since EA will now concentrate on their next atrocity, RA3.
After that + an expansion, they'll probably make a TW-sequel...

That's a pretty situational instance. There's no guarantee that situation will arise everytime you build it.

Makes for an epic tank rush counter, that's for sure.
