I usually never let my models go over the 1500 poly line. but this one went to 1599. i'm gonna have to delete and weld a few things b4 put it in-game, but i don't want to lose detail at all, only the invisible stuff

Well, considering the in-game limit is about 600 for generals (I have no idea what it is for CnC3) you might have to cut out a lot :P. With a good skin, though, that shouldn't be to hard. You added a lot of details in the model that could've been in the skin, which was part of it. Also, great work.

there is no limit in cncgenerals or in any game for that matter. the only thing to take in to consideration is the lagging. but if i don't worry no one should since i'm running on a 64 mb on-board video, 512mb of ram, and 2.8 ghz pentium4 and um windows xp home. i still cant even play battlefield 2. yes i know its sad

There's no such thing as an in-game poly count limit, but modders usually limits polycount of a single unit in the range of 700 to 1000 polys to ensure playability across different system specs.

Honestly speaking your model looks too simple to be worth its current poly count. Major optimization on the cards?

yeah when i was making the chassis i added too many segs. and i forgot to weld a few b4 i skinned. and then i went thru too much hell with this skin so don't think i may be able to lower it much without killing the uvs

Hola. i haven't been on much because i couldn't think of somethin i personally wanted to model. but then it hit me. i could make a 3d model of my house my backyard and my front yard. i would use my digital camera to get the accurate textures and details.

i will upload screenies of what it looks like itself but i cant find the usb cable that came with da damn camera.

what i've done up to yet (only the back porch and the garage).

Hi guys back a second time. first off i have to say that i wont be able to get on my pc much
this week(EXAMS). BUT in a weeek i will be able to go on much more often meaning i get to model
and mod.

First of I Finally Finished My Expeditionary Fighting Vehicles skins. To tell u the truth i
never started the skins until yesterday. but now i'm done and proud of my work.

Secondly I modeled/Uv-ed a TUSK upgrade for my M1A2 Abrams. I'm still working on skinning it now
but it's lookin pretty good soo far. The Explosive reactive Armor Tiles are fully skinned. i
just have to Finish with the Remote Weapons System. Also you may notice how The Armor is using a

Desert Texture Rather than Green color the abram is using. thats because when i ,make my skins i
always go from this all in order:

Desert Tan - Green - Snow - Woodland.

Also I have realised Modeling is becoming much easier. when i want to make something i can
actually do it. it just takes me hours. And UVmapping is getting on my nerves. yes it is true i
find it easy and simple it's just it takes sooo freaking long....

About the house... i didn't quit on it i just found something better to do. i'll get back to it
later on.

here are Some Screenies:

and peace... i'm going to bed now it's 5:00 AM NOW!! been workin all night.

not bad at all man. the design on itself isn't earth-shattering but it truly shows you have skills and are able to skin/model.

was crackin. i got a few finished models. These were pretty easy to do because they are low in poly and i can just pile them up and change their shapes a little. I made them For The Art of War mod. i really needed them for a few buildings in-game. So i created a few different types.

Here is what i have so far:

Posted Image

Here are the basic Models. I started out with these. Now since i wanted to save poly, when i was done with puting them together i deleted the bottom faces. but i also had to edit some of them because when they are too straight they look like hard rocks.

- 2 differently shaped small sandbags
- 2 differently shaped large sandbags
- one big pile of dirt

The textures where simple images found on google.

Hey yall. i heven't updated this so i thought i'd go ahead and show you another project. Now i did finish the Explosive Reactive Armor on my Abrams and it is looking mighty Good. I even rendered it. but i really can't show you guys because i'm saving it for the next update for my mod. but i'm starting this new model. It's an M270 MLRS. I'm trying to make this as accurate as possible while keeping the poly count low. unlike the EFV when i accidentally forgot to weld the faces before skinning i'm not gonna make this mistake again. Here are the WIPs. just would like to show you guys how it's going along.

I also realized that it's much easier to model accurately if you use more objects to add on.

EDIT: removed these old pics to take away lagging

I'll be deleting these pics if they cause too much lag

OK model is Finished except for the treads. Any Advice before i start skinning? Also the model came around 780 polys. Which to me is perfect. i'm probably going to model the rockets too.

hey ya'll, new model. T-80 UM2, Aka Black Eagle. it took me only 3 and half hours to make. So i think it's improvement. I would have made a render for both the M270 and Black eagle model but i'm using my Brand New computer (which i built by myself, thankyou) and i don't have 3dsmax installed on it yet. so i downloaded Fraps and took a few pics.

Poly Count: 1086.

here are the pics i used for reference:

That's awesomeness; I've been wanting to see someone here do a black eagle for a while. |8
Looks pretty accurate too, but IMO, the turret is just a touch too big. Otherwise, nice. |8
