True. That's what I was hinting at in the introduction. Vegas 1 and 2 have only little to do with the old RS titles in which you could outfit your team with various weapons and uniforms, plan your attack routes and orders etc. Now you can merely choose your own weapons and tell your two lads to go here, shoot this, kick in that door and so on. They DO function quite well though but in my opinion, this is a MUST if you can no longer control them yourself. On the whole, I still prefer the old RS games, especially Ravenshield.

Well RS is the only one I actually own but I can't get the damn bugger work online (at least I can enjoy some mods muahaha)...also RS has quite an interesting story IMO...I mean did anyone ever used a Ustashe officer to be the bad guy? (except for RavenShield of course)

Come on man, cut that bull****. It's matter of past, as I'm personally ashamed of ustashes and partisans. First one worked with Nazis, and second ones were commies, where I hate partisans even more, as they are "product" of Traitor.

I would hurt myself if something like that ever comes into games.

Fallout 1+2 had such a system, though it also did include VW sized powered armor.

The Ghost Recon games implemented features similar to the ones suggested. It could get annoying on harder difficulty levels where enemies could kill you with a single headshot though :)

True but since this system would also be applied to all AI characters, they'd also die in one headshot. They'd also lose health
through bleeding so they WILL drop eventually. The tough thing about implementing this system is to get the hit detection right.

Hit detection system would be easy to make but coding the effects of being shot is another story

Right but it's certainly worth the effort; actually more so than many other things the developers seem to be doing these days.

Well it would be more amusing...I remember some minimods for CoD:UO in which if shot in the hand your weapon would be dropped, if wounded you start bleading and lose accuraccy and if very low on health you'd fall to prone and ussually die (if youre lucky enough you may survive) and also gives a medikit to use on teammates. Now that shit was way better than most mods (including TC) i played for any game.

Dunno if anyone's noticed it, but Generals and C&C3 had something like this when units were on low health, they'd move and fire slower than usual. The Titan in C&C3 even had 3 different walking speeds and animation depending on how much health it had.

I heard rumour of being able to shoot off armour plates from enemies in DNF as well?

As for the damage system you're going for, I can't see it being in any game that's not rated M or AO (a.k.a. banned in Australia)

...which is unfortunate because such a damage system would not be intended to make the game more gory but
rather tactically challenging. If anything, a higher amount of violence would be the result of a powerful graphics engine.

It's gems like these that make my day.

As to the damage system, it's interesting, and feasible, but I cannot think of a developer out there that could be bothered to implement this system, when they can currently produce the usual cheap knock-off games that people will still pay for....

We're going to lock this post up in a titanium box, go to the Mariana Trench, and drop it in the ocean. 8|

Also imo, damage systems make games more interesting.

You forgot to add 'Pistols held by the enemies will be pinpoint accurate at 50 meters while automatic weapons used by enemies will be unable to hit anything within 2 meters of where they were aiming.'
