I'm actually interested in what can be done now that Technicians have said they can no longer repair the Golden Throne.

It is a fact that the Emperor will die, so what can be done about it?

Is Azrael a strong enough psyker? Without the Emperor will all unguided psykers fall to the ruinous powers of the warp?

To Dauth: The unguided/un-brain-washed/non-Chaos psykers could fall, but that would only be if the Ordo Malleus is not around (after the fall of the Emperor) and if it is still around, only if they haven't gotten to them.
For those thinking the Tau Empire is the answer, keep this fragment in mind: Humans wishing to join the cause for the Greater Good are castrated or otherwise spayed/neutered. May not sound like much, but the Tau claim this is done for the "Greater Good".
As for the fall of the Eldar, it created two things: The Dark Eldar, and the Chaos god Slaanesh. The fall was brought about by a more decadent lifestyle similar to that of those who lived in Sodom and Gommorah.
To Overdose: I'm rooting against the Imperium too, but I'z dewin' it wiff da Orkz! WAAAGH!

The Void Dragon, possibly the best explanation I've seen so far. Is the Ordo Malleus large enough to check even 10% of the Imperium Nooka? Seriously with the Emperor no longer holding out against Chaos there will be do many new Deamon worlds it won't even be funny.

With all the collateral damage on planets from the Necrons and Great Devourer, the Imperiium would be the hardest hit. Beating back Ork pirates and Waaghs would become increasingly difficult. The many smaller Xenos empires (such as Tau) will expand while left uncheck.
Two events would signal the end to the Imperium as we know it. The first would be the fall of the Cadian Gate. This would give Chaos free access into realspace outside of the Eye of Terror. A final Black Crusade would be lead by Abaddon into the Sol system that would falter and fail outside of Terra. Chaos being chaos, many small empires would rise around the Eye of Terror led by different Daemon Princes or Chaos Lords.
The Golden Throne will eventually fail. The Empire will finally pass on and the astronmicon will blink out. The Imperium will lose thousands of ships in the warp. Traveling long distances will be dangerous and take a much longer time. The Imperium will splinter into many individual planets and empires. Only the Sol Segmentum will be the Imperium. The Space Marine chapters will take control of the space and planets surrounding their home world when they lose contact with the Imperium falls. Ultramar will become the next largest Empire of man.
Basically, it is the end of the Imperium and the domination that mankind held over the universe. Mankind will survive, but will not be able to impose their will on Xenos as they once did.
With all the chaos that ensues, the Eldar will patiently watch in the background and eventually settle forgotten worlds and finally rebuild their civilization.

'nids are the Hivemind, they have no soul, thus the Necrons can't harvest them.
Tyranids, also tend to stay clear of Necrons, there is no great Biomass to devour. And the metal skeletal biengs are too tough for their claws and fangs to crack.
I agree though, in the end it has to be either one of those two races that win the galaxy over.

@DrugKoala: Thraka should have killed Yarrik when he had the chance. Instead, he lets him live and even gives him a Powah Klaw. All of this for the reason that "Orkz need good opponents, since good ones are so hard to find." The green tide will rule the galaxy one way or another, despite what your puny humans have to say about it. Orkz steal what they don't destroy, so keep those Basilisks where we can see them, or even where we can't.

The Machine God on Mars is supposedly a resting Necron entity, known as the Void Dragon. Two are talked about and well known, The Great Deceiver, and the Nightbringer (death itself). It is said that the Void Dragon is simply sleeping or laying dormant somewhere near the core of Mars, and that if awakened, would promptly destroy everything there. Say goodbye to your Mars Pattern Leman Russes, Titans and Baneblades if that happens, you faithful Imperium followers. What was a once dear spirit to the Adept Mechanicus is in fact the bane of all humanity. Kiss your trusted machines goodbye and say hello to Hell.
The Tyranids may stay away from the Necron for the reason you stated Nid, but from their creation by the Old Ones (at least it is reported to be that way), they have run amok ever since. They are simply uncontrollable, ravenous beasts. Originally intended to fight the Necrons, as were the Orkz, the Tyranid defied their creators and sought to leech every resource from every planet they could lay a hold on. They adapt almost instantaneously, meaning that if one generation failed, the very next has mutations to help compensate for the former's short-coming. The adaptations continue until one generation is successful for the given task. This includes having talons and claws hard and sharp enough to tear through the living metal skeletons of the Necron. If the Tyranids and Necron ever meet, the Tyranids will find a way to beat them if they're not successful at first.

The Tyranids and Necrons fought on Medusa V. There is a picture with a description of a battle wherein the Tyranids kick the Necrons' asses in the 'Nid codex.

1. The Nids do fight Necrons, they do it quite well apparently.
2. The Nids can eat metal - metal forms part of the biomass they digest
3. It seems pretty obvious why the Tyranids would avoid dead planets that just happened to have Necrons on them - they are ignoring dead planets, not the Necrons.
Oh and I think that even if the Tyranids and Necrons never clash, the Necrons still lose, because the Tyranids are going to eat their cattle while they have their metallic thumbs up their asses.

Edit:
Ask yourself: Why shouldn't one of the C'tan harvest a tasty great HiveMind Soul?
