I would like to refer them as "extremists", in the same manner as all those terrorist organizations that so-call fight in the name of god.

TBH I think it's interesting why EA have never dealt with GenII. It was a popular game and has a life much longer than most others. They are a business and businesses do not pass up opportunities to make money, which is something that GensII would most certainly do. There must be a reason for it having not been made already....
Perhaps because of the tensions the first Generals caused, don't forget it was censored in Germany and China...

There are plenty of games that are released world wide that could be considered sensitive. GTA and Saints Row for example are hardly morally superiour to Gens. There has to be another reason.... it's either economics or development related, possible both.

The german censorship also applied to earlier games of the series, namely the usage of cyborgs instead of humans (though this never carried over to the FMVs).

Its most probably about development thing, maybe they just didn't come up with a good idea about Generals II and just ' forget about it ' when they are working on other series

GLA bought like 90% of all russian weapons. they have quiet enough for a while. guns like the AK-47 and rockets like the Luna are soviet weaponry

With so many mods for Generals/ZH available, I don't think EA will create a Generals 2. These mods pretty much covered most of every possible factions, weapons, and scenarios.
Perhaps a different gameplay will be made. Let's say, for example, similar to Real War: Rogue States?

i doubt EA looks at the community mods when it's considering whether or not it should make another game
i think that Generals II will come out within the next decade on a new engine, as it was the first RTS CNC game to use the SAGE engine, it'd make sense for the next Generals installment to use a newer game engine. the plus side? better gfx, no more SAGE

You forgot to add this to the good side "no more LameSpy"
Also SAGE won't be entirely gone it'll just be improved under the name of 'RNA'

I reckon that the delay, if it is indeed a delay, must be due to the engine and limitations of what they have now vs what they'd like to do [massive speculation]. New engines are very costly to develop. The Tiberium & RA series could be the money makers, the bread and butter stuff. Lets hope they save the best for the new Generals or at least Generals variant.

Having the Tib and RA games as money makers for the Generals franchise would be utterly cynical.
