Seriously, it looks really similar to COD 4 but you can see how much they've refined it and polished it. The Rio map looks stunning.
The AC-130 was pretty sweet, but was "OP" the first thing that came to anybody else's mind? I'm all up for pummeling scores of defenseless opponents, but it would kinda suck for them. I wonder how it'll be balanced?

This is so on my list to buy. Balanced? It's an AC-130, how can it be balanced?

2. Missiles are now heat-seeking, countermeasures notwithstanding.
3. The Spectre is listed as available at a killstreak of 11. That means it's not likely to pop up often and make everyone stay inside constantly like the heli did in CoD 4.
But of course it'll be very powerful, that much is obvious

Hmmm, actually from the looks of the trailer it looked like you need to pull out a laptop to call it in, and then you can:
A. Control it yourself with a birds eye view, and make it fire at specific targets around the map. (This leaves you very vulnerable, so you'd need to hide).
B. Let it go around killing enemies you fire at randomly.
It looked like every time the player fired at someone, the AC-130 locked on to the target and decimated it. So I reckon you CAN do around killing other enemies while the AC-130 helps out.
It would be somewhat balanced, if it goes away as soon as you die. That way, the entire enemy team could just attempt to kill the enemy player that called it in, via sniping, grenades etc, I'm sure the player wouldn't last long.
The other thing that would balance it, would be to let an entire team of players with the RPG, easily shoot it down. That one depends on how many flares the AC-130 has.
It might have infinite flares and be impossible to shoot down.
The other thing I really liked about the trailer in general, was the excellent lighting on the new maps. The graphical detail, and especially lighting looks a universe away from what COD4 had.

I'm no really sure how the AC130 would work. It could also be that you run around and it's cpu controlled. The view from the AC130 could have also been the killcam.
EDIT: Just found out it says 'be the gunner of a AC130' in the description
But I hope you can control it yourself, although that would be worse then the helicopter though. Soon after you call it, everyone will hide in a house. With the helicopter you could clear the houses yourself then, but this wouldn't be possible with the Spectre.
How awesome would it be if they would add destructible buildings like in Bad Company? Annihilating the whole map with a AC130!!
There are 15 unlockable Killstreaks it seems. I guess there will also be the Dogs and Artillery from CoD5. But I can't really think of anything else.
Post your Ideas!
And I hope they get rid of the one-killstreak-power-thingie-at-a-time restriction. Yes, it would look stupid if two Helis wouldn't attack each other, but seriously it sucket in CoD5 that you couldn't call in your dogs because someone else did and the Dogs lasted for an eternity.

I know destructible enviroment won't do gameplay a favor, but it looks kinda stupid if you see a huge explosion and nothing gets destroyed. It would be nice if there were a few destroyable areas on every map

No, ofcourse there should be places to hide. I just think it sucks to have a Spectre if you can't destroy a wooden shelter or something

In bad company you are encouraged to destroy the map, but there are still places to hide, building ruins and terrain, its almost impossible to destroy everything in the entire map

My main gripe with destructible environments is not only that shelters are destroyed, but that destructible environments selectively screw over certain classes. Especially snipers and shotgunners which were already completely screwed over in CoD 4 and which had no sporting chance against any assault rifle, which were more powerful than everything else at every range. Destructible environments are highly disadvantageous to already-difficult-to-use weapons such as snipers and shotguns while no-brainer weapons like assault rifles actually profit from it, further destroying weapon balance. Yeah, it may look cool but sacrificing gameplay for looks is a surefire way to hell for any game.

Actually a Spectre pummeling the area would destroy everything if aimed manually. Question would it be capable of digging up the dirt (huge ass craters that is) so that you could use it as cover is another story

Except the Brasil and what looks like a super tiny map for 4 or 6 player al of the new maps look big and very open, so i am going to say shotguns and sniper are already screwed over

i think it just depends on the game...
destructible environments wouldnt really work in MW cause of how the guns are set up, but in BC they work becuase, you can stand quite a chance using just about any kit providing you use it right.

Ok, then we need a AC130 in a Battlefield game. Has Anyone played Desert Combat Extented. They had a spectre and it was awesome.
On Topic:
Yeah, the only way to make destructible environment work is to create the whole game around it. It just wouldn't fit CoD. But having a few destroyable roofs would still be nice.
I'm so going to buy this!

1. Regardless, you'll still be gaining a lot more kills with significantly greater ease than you would regularly.
2. I got a feeling it's still going to take quite a combined effort, especially with the level of armour they'd presumably have.
3. Yeah, fair call.
4. Rage quitting will be in renewed abundance, even more so than it is now

Sounds feasible, but if you're teammates were up for it, they could just defend you [e.g, for S&D or HQ] for as long as the AC-130 was around.
