You've all been discussing the weapons of CoD4:MW for quite sometime. My post was to get you back to the future content in MW2. Not which weapon is best atm.

and your statement doesn't make any real sense IMHO. since MW2 is the sequel to MW, discussing MW's overpowered weapons in regard to MW2 only seems normal to me.
or am i missing something here.

It's quite obvious this is where it's started. From here the topic has moved away to which weapons had what effect. Now you might not think that is off topic but I do. All I did was instruct you to get back directly to MW2 and all you've done is further derail the topic from there, proving my point. The effective thing to have done was to continue the discussion.
And as for the use of the word "nazi" I did not think that you did call me one, however we've already seen a comment such as this be misconstrued in the last week, with people calling for heads to roll because of it. It's best if you avoid it all together to avoid it's misinterpretation. Now for the last and final time, back to topic please.

We are discussing possible improvements for Modern Warfare 2, by analysing it's predecessor's flaws.
But if you wish so...
What do you guys think about vehicles. SP or MP. IIRC there is none controllable vehicle in CoD4, but you are the gunner in a few situations. In MP there were none at all.
In MW2, the AC130 is confirmed for MP, but I doubt we will see another Spectre-SP-level. In CoD2 and 5 there were Tank-levels. CoD5 had Tanks in MP, but I really disliked them.
Should MW2 have driveable vehicles in SP or MP?
*gets thread back on track*
SP vehicles are fine with me because SP has no balance concerns and I wouldn't mind a vehicle section without retarded controls *looks at Crysis's VTOL*
MP makes it more difficult due to the fact that players will be forced to carry rocket launchers more often and armor values will be have to be tweaked. Vehicles are more fitting in BF tbh. That said I can't wait to find out more about Battlefield 3.

a) stationary at-weapons
b) rocket launchers that spawn on the map (so you don't need to use a anti-tank class)
c) ammo-supply on the map. (so your anti-tank class isn't useless after 2 shots)
Actually I hope they include ammo-crates (or something like that) anyway, or let you pick up grenades from killed players. I don't want to have nade-spammers, but it sucks to have only 1 nade or 2 C4/RPG/Claymores if you want to go for a long killstreak.

That makes it sound a bit more like Battlefield

as far as nades are concerned...1 nade per spawn is way too many as it is (basically they need to add perks to allow you to use nades at all)

You can always use perks for more granades...that is sounding a little Battlefieldish...
kudos to Pasidon for this awesome avvy and siggy!

or just seriously tone the things down in terms of power and throwing distance.

As for nades, a server option to individually restrict/limit them would be fine too.
The ammo-supply could work like this:
-) There is only one ammo-crate on the map, probably in a wide and open area.
-) To get new ammo/nades you would have to press 'F', and wait a few seconds. While you look into the crate you would be very vulnerable.

also it makes me wonder will they ever return Behind Enemy Lines gamemode (basically Axis outnumber the Allies and hunt them while the allies gain points by killing the germans and surviving as long as possible)

One team would have one or more vehicles that are AI-driven on a pre-built route. The players could use the guns and tank-cannons, and the other team would have to destroy all vehicles or kill all players. This could be both round-based and deathmatch style.

You know what, rather than re-tell the story, here's his direct post as found on the Modern Warfare 2 forums:
"Akimbo is NOT the perk in the new MP trailer this week.
I was presenting a singleplayer mission at the GameCrazy show this morning on stage and happened to walk over a body that had Akimbo (dual wield side arm), therefore the icon for the weapon popped up on screen and the room went crazy with chants demanding I pick it up and use it.
So I did.
Happened to be dual Deagles. Now to calm some initial fears of "OMG! Overpowered!". Akimbo is limited and balanced, just like EVERYTHING in the game. It's limited to sidearms, harder to aim than standard and you can't go ADS (aim down sights) since you have a weapon in each hand; Among other balancing techniques, so don't freak out before you see it in action.
It's cool."
So by the sounds of it Akimbo may in fact be a new perk, but not the one people were clamoring about long enough for Infinity Ward to include in Modern Warfare 2 (and show off in an upcoming multiplayer trailer this week). Akimbo does leave us with some questions though if it is a new perk, and details will have to wait. FourZeroTwo was in mid-demo with the single player mode, but how will the system work should it be included in multiplayer? For instance, would players need the Akimbo perk turned on, thus allowing them to pick up two pistols? Is there some system in the game that now allows players to not only swap weapons but also perk-sets mid-fight? Clarification is going to have to wait, but the concept of running with Dualies in Modern Warfare 2 is one we'll be happy to try just as soon as we can.
Oh, and as for the multiplayer trailer hitting later this week, our money is on multiple attachments for weapons. We don't know a COD4 player alive that hasn't begged for that one. Got other thoughts? List them below in the comments section so we can make fun of you when you're wrong.
