are you guys sure this isnt made by treyarch?

That is probably the best line I have seen all day long.

I agree, L4D2 seems like it's too...y'know...soon.

Any bets on when they announce L4D 3?

I don't really like the fact that they have a new pack of survivors now, I liked the old ones. But the chainsaw I bet will add an interesting (albeit BLOODY) new aspect to gameplay. And I thought New Orleans was bad off enough with Katrina... now the infection!

The game was getting pretty old. You gotta admit playing the same 4 campaigns over and over again with the same boring characters, weapons and infected was getting very tiring. This should spring some life back in the game.

Yea, but it still seems a bit too soon. The chainsaw sounds awesome however. Apparently one of the campaigns takes place not far from where I currently live :O

They did one thing right in Left 4 Dead 2 though, they made the SPAS-12 semi-automatic like its real counterpart. It's funny really, the more videos I watch the less pissed I get at them because it looks fun, but at the same time I'm still mad that I have to pay $40.00 for it.

They have a SPAS-12? Why? The M1014 from L4D 1 is a much superior weapon.

Because now we have the Mossberg, the Spas-12, and the M1014. There are a few weapons in the game now that are in between tier one and tier two and have their own pros and cons compared to the vanilla weapons.

To give an example, the Spas is semi-automatic, reloads quickly, and does good damage. However, it doesn't have as much ammo as the other two, and can't hold back a horde as well.

Ok, I thought they were replacing the Benelli with the SPAS-12. (Anyways, the SPAS-12 is regarded to be a fairly crappy gun, but that's beside the point) And the new pump-action shotgun is a Mossberg? Cool, at least it's better than the weird Ithaca 37/Remington 870 crossbreed seen in the original L4D.

i wish that the 2nd tier weapons werent necessarily better, just different (like maybe the pump shotty did more damage and had better range, and the auto was... well... auto)

Well then their finding isn't really that much of a happening, is it? Something you have to tactically have in mind.

Gamespot Hands-On Impessions

Charger sounds like funny Special Infected. 8| And uncommon common would make molotov spamming less effective.

From the trailer, we can get that the protagonist is very religious. WOW.

I loved the planes, I hope we get a chance to actually fly them. *coughnotlikelycough*

He's not religious, his grandmother was. It sounds like he was being sarcastic when he said "Yeehess maam!"

(As far as I can tell).

Bad name aside (L4D 2 just doesn't sound right) It looks like it will be a decent game. That gamespot information was taken from the latest PC Gamer. But he didn't give you everything.

- As well as the new half way common zombies some special infected will have further mutations though what these do is unknown.
- Doubt this is one of the new special infected but wandering witches have been spotted.
- Maps are now more random. The AI director will move objects around to block or open your path, forcing you to choose different routes.
- The end of "Sitting in a corner" This will especially please L4D Haters, yes Dr i'm looking at you! - All alarms will continue to go off until you move to the off switch and turn it off. For example.

You leave a room which was designated as an evacuation facility, when you open the door onto the street the alarm goes off. Hordes of screeching zombies race towards you. And they continue to do so until you move across the street, through a building onto the roof of the building, then leap onto a crane from the roof. You can then stop the alarm and the horde will end.

The wandering witches aren't new special infected, they're just the regular witches. They move around during day now.

On a similar note, the AI director can change what time of the day it is and the weather to make a more varied game.

I like to be mentioned :pnd:

They are basically making a full game this time, compared to the relatively unfinished first game (By that i mean, the corner camping, the lack of variety in the map paths and the small amount of guns).
I might buy it, but i don't want to be disappointed again, i guess i will have to wait for more information to surface.

It's like the first L4D was a test to see if it worked, and now that it's a hit "here's the REAL game"

Yes, except that Vulva Valve lied to us in how the first game was going to be kept massively up to date and with lots of extra content.

Cry me a river. Valve probably just thought they could do better by releasing a new game. Besides if they want to cash in just this once, let them. They deserve it.

It's not that it is a bad game or anything, in fact I will probably get it when it comes out.
It's the fact that are releasing the game a bit too early, especially with the promises of long lasting support.
You almost did, didn't you?

We frankly don't know anything about the game. It could even be a purchasable expansion. Let's be civil and hold our judgment until we get to play it. Shall we?

Honestly, game developers are rarely benevolent. I wouldn't blame them for trying to make more money in these economically troublesome times.
