I present you my Mercedes 190 2.0E:
[pics]

Nice Merc but it needs a 350 chev small block in it :xD:
A what? :xD:

350 Chev small block, all in reference to the motor. 350 being the cubic inches, or how large the displacement of all the cylinders is. Chev, is an abbreviation of "Chevy", which makes it a further abbreviation of "Chevrolet". Small block physically refers to the size of the motor's block, which, in this case, a 350 cubic inch motor is a V8.

Nice car Chyros. How many kilometers on the odometer? It's got a 2.0L under the hood, which means it's a 4-cylinder. How's it run? Like a top or really chatty mice? Good on ya for getting an older Merc. Had a chance to run it around enough to drain a tank? The only thing I detest are those awful wheels, but outside of that, it's a decent ride. :xD:

@Alias: Oh how ignorance can hurt.

Its also instant 300rwhp with out tuning.

I question the general assumption that i am inherently deficient in the area of grammar and sentence structure

They might be cheap in everything-is-cheap-land but they certainly aren't cheap in the rest of the world.

In many cases you can spend more on buying parts to repair your old Merc than you spent on actually buying it in the first place.

View PostSgt. Nuker, on 22 May 2011, 4:41, said:

It's a matter of knowing where to look for the parts and doing a bit of research. True enough old(er) cars start to cost more in parts than for the car itself, but knowing where to look can make all the difference. It just takes a little effort and a bit of willingness.
Oh, it's not as bad as you think, Alias. I have the luxury of knowing some people who run a garage, they're good friends of ours. They helped me check out the car and they say it's in fine condition for such an old car. At worst, I'll have to replace one of the wheel brakes in a few years, which would set me back around 200 euros. I think I can live with that.

@ Ghost: yeah, it's not really what I'd expected to come up with :xD: .

And yours is a kid's bike :) . Personally I'd hate to ride it as I'm sure it would break me back, but it looks pretty fast :sly: . Camille, doesn't yours have a hub instead of a derailleur, though?

I wouldn't want to use either. This is my bike :) Dawes Discovery 301.

Mine however is a much older model, It's also a bit small for me now, so I'll probably replace it at the end of the year, lot of memories on this thing, and 7500 miles.

yes it is a hub (derailleurs are the work of the devil unless you buy them for an arm and half your liver) but that doesn't matter, changing the front gear should do the trick.

I love the nimbleness and the acceleration of a good BMX, they are the most fun in tight city streets and pavements. You simply cannot beat single speed for acceleration.

I don't know what the gearing ratio is for a BMX, but you can get suprisingly high acceleration from a road/hybrid bike. Start on gear 14(7/2) few seconds later go up to 21(7/3) few seconds later go up to full speed(8/3) Before you know it your going at 25/30mph.

Because my old mouse died, I bought the same mouse (but in black this time) on eBay, as they haven't made them in years. Brand new, cost me £0.79. That's the same as a single MP3 from iTunes! :)
