I want to apologize for anyone who is enraged by my comments about how Michael Jackson "deserved" to die. Look, if you guys want me to leave the forum forever, than I'm cool with that. I really feel like shit now. And it's a burden I'm willing to bear.

Once again, my apologies for pissing everyone off. And my sympathy goes out to those who are saddened by this. It truly is the loss of a legend.

Without him we wouldn't have music the way it is today, no doubt. He basically invited the "Music Video" and popularized putting more effort into the style side of the music.
He will be sorely missed by the majority of the world and remembered for the awesome music he produced, i hope generations down the line can still enjoy his crazy voice and flashy dance moves.

Rest in piece, you have earned it.

Much as I have absolutely no love for the man or his music whatsoever, I can appreciate this is a great loss to the world of music that he inhabited. My doubts remain as to his integrity after the allegations against him, but I would not wish death on him for it, least of all for something which can never be proven.
I think that people should take careful note of the sad story of this man; a thoroughly unhappy life, and a thoroughly strange one that would have earned him no respect were it not for the fame his music brought him, despite success, wealth and fame that have few matches. He should be remembered for his contribution to the arts scene, of course, but I hope people do not idolise the life he lead.

Also, to Wesley and Ion, you have both acted wrongly in this thread. Wesley, I hope you will consider what you say and the allegations you make carefully in future, and show much greater sensitivity for peoples' feelings, especially where a death is concerned. Ion, you've crossed the line of personal attacks and that's something I am not prepared to overlook. Do it again and there'll be consequences. You're welcome to refute people's opinions, but if you can't do it politely don't do it at all.

I am quite capable of refuting opinions politely but that is not always enough to get the message across. Sometimes more is needed, this was such an occasion.

Tbh, this came to me as a shock. I would have never expected, that MJ would die so soon. Though I have never been a real fan of his music, he can surely be put along the side of Elvis.

I really respect Michael Jackson's career as a singer. From the Jackson 5 to his later years, he produced back to back hit albums. Not easily done.

Oh my this was unexpected. And right before his final concert I had a couple of friends who bought tickets to that concert, and I can't imagine how bad it must feel knowing their idol passed away so abruptly. Though I may not be old enough to have "grown up" with MJ, I did follow his music alot while growing up and recently got back into all his tracks. He was certainly good at what he did, all the surgery aside. May the King of Pop rest in peace.

P.S. He supposedly died from cardiac arrest, so I wouldn't blame it on surgeries. Rather he must have been on weird unbalanced diets or something.

That does depend on your definition of what his best days were. I am certainly old enough to have been around for Thriller and Bad and I remember buying both as they were released, which we're most likely his best.
