I'm quite positive that your game collection doesn't spontaneously dissolve because of any of EA's decisions. On the matter of them not doing "proper sequels"... well, one usually has a hard time finding two people that can agree on what a proper sequel is in the first place.

People seem to forget that TD and RA1 were, in fact, not perfect games.

Or they're just afraid of change, either way.

From what we've heard so far it sounds like this C&C is sort of like Quake Wars as an RTS, which is pretty awesome.

i agree.

most people that hang on to the TD and RA game values seem to have an almost phobic fear of anything new or refreshing. it's like this never ending rusted gears that stay stuck and always repeat the same motion. it goes so far that even graphical change (the mammoth being a prime example) is looked upon as blasphemy and utter betrayal to the franchise.

i don't think there is any way this is ever going to change. i guess these people will continue playing the 1994-1995 games 'till 2160...
it's time to wake up

It can't change the fact that EA is destroying classics.

Classic C&C games is still there if anyone wish to play them, let the new generation and those who bored from 5 pixel tanks and bases taste the new style C&C

Although I gave up on CnC 4's graphics, this sums up my feelings on the rest of the game.

Right, Ive taken a look at the 8-page article of PC gamer UK and my opinions? Well, I'm going to buy it, if not for the gameplay, then at least so I know how the story about Kane's going to end.

According to the little cutout I made which you can enlarge by clicking on it below, they've decided to take a look at the timeline and seem to have explained a bit.

Considering we've seen Alpha screens, I would expect the graphics to improve but I doubt they would reach WiC as it is a fairly different game engine. I would expect RA3 plus visuals and hopefully better camera control as I'm sick of only zooming and rotating. I want tilt control too!

The Scrin aren't a playable side, but will probably be featured in the campaign as an enemy faction.

On the other hand you can say scrins get their forces from the tiberium (it's in KW's database), so if Kane has found the way to control Tacitus, which is the key of Tiberium, he could annihilate all the scrins just by using it :P

Mammoth tanks AND Mammoth Mk II?

BEST C&C GAME EVER!

Yeah, I'm easily pleased. XD

(Also, it seems logical that the Scrin become non-playable. The Scrin that GDI and Nod barely defeated was just a small mining company. You think it'll be fair and balanced to give players control over the REAL Scrin army? It'll probably use Visceroids as basic soldiers and CORE Defenders as MBT's.)

As for the name... What about Tiberian Twilight

More proof that EA can't do anything of quality!
Posted Image

This Mastadon looks like some total rookie modeled it. Not to bash EA, since I do like the body design, it's just that for a high-res pick, this should look like it was in a friggin movie, and yet it looks like a scaled up version of the ingame unit. Come on EA, the rookies here at Fallout Studios can do better then that! So why can't you deliver something that looks good, AND plays good!!!!

The gun barrel texture is a bit plain and detracts from the whole model, but looks pretty nice otherwise. 5 Cannons and a Rocket Launcher? That's decent.

Either you lost your brains somewhere on the way home, you can see the future gameplay of C&C4, or you're talking out of your anus.

Oh and RaiDK, it's two rocket launchers... :D

That Mastodon looks drawn tbh. Is it really a model? Anyway, the overall shape is more appealing than the Mammoth Mk II, but I don't like the feet of the mech. Then again, quadruped mechs never really appealed to me.
