Sweet, so not only am I the only one who Pre-ordered C&C4, but I'm also the only one who liked it. The story wasn't that good, and the ending was too sudden, but I enjoyed the gameplay.

Hmmm well from what I've seen I have to agree with everyone that's posted so far, CNC4 looks awful. (Wow, just wow at that video).
They removed so much of what made the CNC series great, gathering resources, building a large varied base and so on.
There appears to have been a bit of a trend recently, of new RTS's not living up to their predecessors.
Lets see we have, Starcraft 2, Supreme commander 2, and now CNC 4, all of which seem to have failed to live up to their potential.
It's left me wondering what will be the next great RTS game...

You see, the thing is that C&C3, and C&C4 are more like twins than sequels. They show both sides to RTS. C&C3 is for those people who like to get really deep in their games, and 4 is more fast paced, on the fly sorta gameplay. One cannot be compared to the other, as one is an orange and one is an apple.

I understand what you mean, but if CNC3 was an apple and CNC4 is an orange, then the classic Command and Conquer games are defiantly pears. People were hoping it was going to go back to the pear gameplay of the classics, not rip off loads of casual RTS to create a whole new experience. The game series only needed bringing back to its roots to succeed, it seems odd to think the whole of EA didn't realize that.
I'm glad CNC is dead, yeah its sad but it has had a good run, I'd rather celebrate the great games and let it die than have more sequels pumped out of it again and again.

How much did they spend making this game? If it is was more than £2.47 and swapping a pack of crisps they got done.
Shittest ending ever.

I want my Generals 2, then we can discuss whether it's dead or not.
Aside from that just because most of the team got fired, doesn't mean the franchise is dead, I'm just going to snip this off a article that was recently posted, "not long ago it was announced that Trion World Network co-founder and Might and Magic creator Jon Van Caneghem, who left Trion earlier this year, has now joined EALA to lead the Command and Conquer brand with "a new digital model that is going to re-ignite the fan base for this franchise."
Also I'm picking my copy up on Friday purely for the storyline, not really interested in multi player.
Edit: @People who keeps saying the ending was terrible, and since I'm probably the only one who didn't click that link thanks for slightly spoiling it for me, Now I can expect a crap ending...

Ohh craps... i feel we are going to get a generals 2 even more dumbed down. I sense huge USA aircraft carriers with treads that can deploy on land and pomp out units and fight over Oil Nods, and GLA Camel powered crawlers. Either that or the next generals will have 1 structure, 2 units and who ever makes the first kill wins.
Haddok Wolf : As for cnc being a more fast paced game ... i personaly don't have anything against that. hell given how limited my time got lately, fast paced is good some ( SOME ) times. But fast paced does not equal retarded. I cannot call something that all you have to do is walk arround the map with a crawler and pump out units without any economy at all a RTS. Hell not even an RTT. Ground control and other games had some form of resources, and you would actually think twice before throwing your units away. But for CnC ... all you do is crawl/deploy/pump and cycle again. CnC 4 could easyly have been made in flash for cell phones and psp's. It's not that it's fast paced. It simply has almost no strategical side on it. It's just a cartoony capture the flag with a CnC logo.

Yes, however It can be upgraded. If you think of it as a base, then the modding community certainly has something good to work with. Lower res models and textures then the super next gen games make it easier for modders, the multiplayer can support a large number of game modes, like collect the most tiberium, CTF, FFA, TDM,"payload", Payload race", Oddball, Planting a bomb somewhere, King of the hill, etc. And modders will most likely make a better story, if possible. 'Course they'd need to release the SDK, but they have done so in the past, so I hope they will here. Also, don't forget, every previous RTS C&C game has had an expansion, and some are better than the original (and it would be easy to do in this case)

There wont be any mod sdk for this one. And i doubt there will be an addon. Considering the fact that the game wasn't exactly welcomed, and the dev team got fired, EA will either start working on the next cnc with a new team or will simply kill the franchise. As for mods ( if by any chance an sdk will be released ) - giving a game credit in hopes that in about 3-5-7 years some mod will be out there that will complete this game is not what i intend to do. Look at the cnc3 and ra3 mods. Alot of them were announced, but only a verry few are still in work for cnc3 and ra3 ... non is out. It takes aloot of years, and by the time a single mod will be out, the community will have already forgot about this pile of crap. Fact is ... the people that can mod this game, hate it, and the people that enjoy it, don't know crap about modding ( and even if some know they are to few to do anything ). CnC 4 was dead before it was even alive.

EA simply doesn't have the manpower to create an SDK. Also, seeing how practically all of the experienced compiler based SAGE modders have expressed extreme dislike for the game, I doubt any of them would do EA the favor of establishing a stable modding community or even create a memorable mod.

So uh, was the screen meant to be white there or was there like a bluescreen effect missing or something?
But wow, that ending has got to be the biggest Deus Ex Machina ever.
Honestly, that ending could have been really good if it was like... a good cutscene.
Also,
Gotta be an incomplete leak. I'm curious as to what the finished cutscene looks like.

Sadly, no. I played the entire nod campaign, that is the full ending.... Plus the C&C retarded mods seem to come out weeks after the SDK release, but I don't know how.

There's almost NO difference between the GDI and NOD endings. SO what was the point of this? At least it's an ending to the tiberium saga. Shame it had to get such a shit ending. I mean C&C3 was plain but not too bad. This is just like something done in a rush to meet a certain deadline regardless of quality.

Seeing what EA just did with C&C 4...Leave C&C Generals, especially ZeroHour alone! I don't want to see EA make C&C Generals 2 dumbed down-version-for-"casual"-gamers.
I would get C&C Generals 2 IF the development team of C&C Generals 2 (if it happens) is the EXACT same team from C&C Generals (Mark Skaggs, Harvard Bonin, Dustin Browder etc,.) and if they stay with the true core gameplay of C&C Generals.

It's an unfitting ending for something that was once so great :(.

Can someone explain to me just what the hell was up with that white background and hand drawn portal? Seriously, that didn't even look finished.
