Wow, I barely knew the guy and I feel awful. Less than a week ago one of our neighbors died in a freak helicopter accident. This could've happened to anybody.

Now cracks a noble heart. Good-night, sweet prince; and flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.
You were far too young to die, Rest in Peace. I may not have known you as well as some of the others here, but I'm glad I had the occasional chat with you.

Farewell.

While i never had the chance to get to know JB, he seemed like a brilliant mind, with a gift for words.

My condolences are with his family.

I feel quite sad to hear this, I wish I got to know him better. He was such a great and nice guy and whenever I was in the mood I would sometimes read his massive wall of text posts and quite enjoyed doing so.

May you Rest in Peace JB.

I've only just returned home and was given the rather sobering news to check the forums. I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but then, I don't think anyone expected this.

I never knew JB personally, but would have loved to. His respectful wit, clever remarks, and all around cheery demeanour allowed us all to love and respect him. As a writer, he always strove to achieve the best and to those that read his short stories (and even his epic posts), he never fell short of that mark.

"You don't know what you've got till it's gone." This phrase might seem a touch cliche, but for all intents and purposes, it's true. CommanderJB was unique and there will never be another like him. Emulated, but never duplicated.

May he rest in peace and my condolences go out to his family.

*Doffs hat and raises glass*

Fare thee well JB, a gent to the end.

Wow, what a shocker. Such a big loss to his friends, family, and the modding community.

Rest in Peace man. You'll always be remembered and respected as the voice of reason and wisdom.

I don't quite know what to say.
Since I'm so new here I never really talked to CommanderJB - all I really knew of him was that he was a respected member of fallout.
Nevertheless, it's really a shame.. He probably had so much ahead of him.
Rest in peace.

I can't believe this!!!! I owe JB for joining the fallout community since he was the one who pointed to me to join when i was posting a question at moddb. He was always helpful and cool and calm. He was truly a great great person the we all will miss.

I think I speak for us all when I say this place won't be the same without his unique personality.
Although I didn't really know him that much or even talk to him that much, he was one of the people on this forum I really looked up to, and will miss reading his lengthy posts dearly.

James you were something that not many are, you showed compassion and strength and wisdom. You took a class of Physics, Biology and Chemistry and many other high achieving courses in your final year of Tasmanian Higher school studies, that being more harder then other states in Australia. You would have easily achieved a UAI of something greater than anyone could imagine. You were so close, you had it all from smartness to kindness to even show me right from wrong with Ms Kuper. You guided me through some hard moments here. You shared information and ideas about our common interest in military being Russian and Axis(that being Iran, North Korea China etc. Not implying any politics as James would consider this as plan banter.). I had just recently added him onto my new msn as my old computer died from my brother turning on his Xbox360. I told James I had lost every single paper model and he then said he would be right back on later with some good news. So I cam on later and he had took the liberty to track down every single sheet and draft he could find of my work while also working on a assignment. Something like that makes you wonder, how on earth can god or allah do or lay such tragedy to such a wonderful man who had so much more then me or anyone else. Why ? I am sure he would want me to remember the good times and learn from these points of time and reflect. He would also want me to make a joke about his Dog Nelson(He named his dog after a British Admiral) being sold to the local Chinese shoot to stimulate the economy. I dedicate this long post to you James Brown. I hope you enjoy your high up position in life looking down on us watching us and praying for us all to achieve our major goals in life. I will miss you Buddy, I look foreword to hopefully see you again in the after life and discuss Military, gossip and have a game together like you said before your left. I love you mate, I will not forget you.

He had such in-depth knowledge in military hardware. A testament of his knowledge is in his thread "CommanderJB's Military Thread".. I have learned many a good deal from that forum.

It's such a shame a good young man has got to go. But life is life.

For my homage to James Brown, a Russian tank parade...Do svidanya.

Of Those Left Behind

This march of life, so demanding
Times like these, of us so trying.

We live on, ignore the starving, turn on the TV
Let the media block it out, fill a void from compassion
With fear.

But so many of us are left behind
Without reason, without cause.

We march on without them, contented
by a burial and a prayer.

But what god can stand for,
The death of innocence in such,
such blatant form.

What god can watch
While the best and the brightest,

The compassionate and the brave,
Are snuffed out like so many candles-

"Accidents" in the great scheme of life.

We will never forget them,
But these accidents,

Half written, altogether rushed,
Ends for lives not lived

What god can stand by,
While we leave them behind,
To these accidents.

But our remembrance,
Omnipresent,

Is not the same as their march
Beside our own.

James Robert Brown is such a good person more than most people around, only to meet a tragic accident and just a few days he met the Reaper's scythe. There is no such thing as you call it spam in any of his posts in here and in other forums he joined with. He treated everybody with respect and kindness no matter what kind that being is. We also talked a few times before, he is quite funny in most of the time and the last time I talked to him was the time I told him about a bug here in FS (which I wouldn't tell or some might hurt me for what I did). Anyways James you shall be remembered in our minds and hearts until the end of time may you Rest In Peace James, you've earned it. |8

A littl bit of off topic, but: Is the year 2009 the beginning of sequences of tragical and deadly events which will leave us with so much sorrow around the world? Because mostly people who are legends and people who touched so many lives in their life die and become a worldly sensation? From The King of Pop, 2 celebrities, a person with so much meaning to world of commercials, the oldest person in the world, the oldest person to give birth, A news legend, other people that I may have not listed and now him.

come to think of it, his death may be a blessing in death. for he is in a similar position to my late granny. JB's fall and if he did survive may have lead him to be in a vegetative state, while my granny was considered to have her leg amputated.

It is a real shock to me.
JB and me had some very nice conversation.
I consider him as a friend.
A man with an attitude that is hard to find in these days.
I will really mis him and his very well written post.

Rest in peace James

It's startling how things like this can occur out of the blue to anybody. Just so.. unexpected.

For the good times and the bad times.. rest in peace mate.

Rest in peace, dear friend. We shall remember your noble character and your friendly nature till the end of our days. In remembrance of your
curious, open mind towards the mysteries of life and the universe, I will now recite a certain quote which seemed to be of great value to you.

Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader", every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there – on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.

I never knew JB personally, and I usually don't post that often so I can't really say anything about him.

From what i've read he must have been a nice person. (Not that it matters to me, nobody deserves to die that young)

Rest in Peace James, we will remember you.
