It has to be said again: Activision is the only big publisher that is not participating in the sale.

F*ck you, Activision.

Allright, now thats cleared, the US also seems to have some dubiously low sale prices on some games. I think tis unfair :(

Derp both BF2 and BF:BC2 are on sale but BF2 is double what BF:BC2 is (even then, I still want BF2 more... BF2 has mods...)

It's probably considered patriotic to give discounts to your own countrymen only :P . But you can use the system of "let someone else buy it for you and then gift it you you"-system to circumvent this.

For those of you in the UK and really cba to run through every single game on Steam, you can have a look here:

http://savygamer.co.uk/2010/12/20/steam-sa...ng-in-on-place/

Protip: If it's part of the 'basic sale' list, don't buy it now. It'll likely crop up on a better sale at some point - if not it'll still be on sale right to the bitter end, so buy it then :P

Super Meat Boy is extreme win :P

Excellent art style with a challenging difficulty, well worth the purchase.

Indeed!

I've played it only for about an hour, and my deaths are just nearing 200

If there was ever any doubt before, now there is none. They are greedy pigs. Discounts don't fit their corporate model - even if it drives more sales.

MW2 at 50% would sell a fortune...

Regarding today's sale, I don't think I'll be buying anything. I would've bought The Witcher: Enhanced Edition if I hadn't already picked it up a day ago. :P

Haha, I already bought mass effect last week and I still have Dead Space from last years sale unplayed in my catalog. I tend to be reserved xD, though I may just as well pick up Mass Effect 2 :P

Although Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is interesting... I own both anniversary and legend but not on Steam, too bad I can't claim my further discount :xD:

And even at half price it's still more expensive than 99% of everything else at it's full price.

The important thing on today is the 75% off the Monkey Island special edition bundle.

It already amazed me they put MW2 on 50% off, they didn't lower CoD 4 a cent in price for two years either as I recall. Activision are greedy bastards.

id are not being very forthcoming either, tbh. They hardly squeeze out 25% for their games, they even only took off 25% for ancients such as Quake (1996!), Doom 2 (1994!!) and ffs Commander Keen (1990!!!). With base prices much too high to begin with, as well.

Also to bear in mind, 'half price' for Australians is $45 AU which is about €35 EUR, $45.5 USD, or £30 GBP.

I bought the Witcher, as it looked very appealing.

..But FIFTEEN FUCKING GIGABYTES?

I don't think I'll be able to play it until next week.. and I'll be preoccupied by revision then..

It's however lacking a jump button, seriously it's pissing me off that you have to make a 10km detour just because there is a tile on the floor which isn't exactly at the same height than the others -_-

Same problem with Condemned: Criminal Origins. "Sorry, but there seems to be a 50 cm wide hole in the floor, so you have to JUMP INTO IT and take a long detour through a library infested with crazed drug-addicts."

Quote

As long as the dark foundation of our nature, grim in its all-encompassing egoism, mad in its drive to make that egoism into reality, to devour everything and to define everything by itself, as long as that foundation is visible, as long as this truly original sin exists within us, we have no business here and there is no logical answer to our existence.
Imagine a group of people who are all blind, deaf and slightly demented and suddenly someone in the crowd asks, "What are we to do?"... The only possible answer is, "Look for a cure". Until you are cured, there is nothing you can do.
And since you don't believe you are sick, there can be no cure.

Thing is most of the time when you're playing the witcher and have to make a detour because of a small obstacle (and we're talking about a 10cm step here) you don't even encounter any enemy, you just have to run back to the area you just cleared and go though another route which will simply enable you to get to the exact same spot you could've reached if it wasn't for the objective. :xD:
