Well, even though we're in the lead atm, the Slovaks aren't playing badly. And like ever, our team is slowly starting to slack off again. No rest for the wicked, for sure. Slovaks haven't been given much of a chance yet, but the day not over yet.

EDIT: holy crap. Great save by Stekelenburg against an outstanding chance for Slovakia out of absolutely nowhere Oo.

Well Shit, there goes Slovakia, I hate it when the games fall into the predictable...

Edit:
Ref: lol, it's 93 min, here's a free point.
Slovaks: lol, thanks man.
Ref: Game OVER, you lose.
Slovaks: asQ$@Q#RWEFA!!

2-0 by Sneijder after a great assist by Kuyt, and we're pretty much through :P .

I'm late to the party, I was at Glastonbury. Everything about England that has already been said is all I have to say anyway.

I think our midfield was incredibly strong, defence shocking, James was our best player. Any ball that slipped past the midway line was lost, and Germany were all over it like they should have been.

Germany did really well, and deserved that win, as well as every goal they got. I thought Englands goals however were well co-ordinated, and Germany's keeper was shitting himself every time the ball came near after our goal(s).

The succession in which we scored the disallowed goal showed just how good England could have been, if only for a few minutes.

What I wanted to add was that for both games while I was there (Slovenia, Germany), the atmosphere was fantastic at glastonbury. Every goal scored met with the right kind of reaction (Excitement and Hurt) And for England fan records, there was no trouble whatsoever, everyone was well behaved and polite, even to the German supporters who recieved a few thousand boos in jest, and they seemed to get the joke. :P
Everyone handled the loss well.

It proved to me that our supporters can be very good sports, and dont just itch for a fight with anyone who defeats our team, or even just plays against us. I'm sorry to anyone who has been on the end of football hooliganism from English fans in the past, they really dont represent the vast majority of us.

3-0 for the Samba Kings.

Hats off for Chile for not playing like little girls and even play offensive football.

I felt bad for their Coach he's a pretty cool and talented guy but Argentina had to be dicks to him. I hope he can help improve Chilean football further.

Probably gonna be Germany v Brazil, alternatively Argentina v Brazil. Portugal and Brazil can't meet in the final afaik.

Argentina vs Brazil in a world cup final would be like WW3.

Seriously it will be like Olympus vs Titans.

I'd rather lose in the quarter or semi finals to someone else than to lose to Argentina at the final but if we win there will be very powerful emotions, I don't think many Brazilians would manage to remain sane or. It would be something better than the best possible orgasm, if such a thing is possible. Seriously the rivalry between Argentina and Brazil is like serious business, its like the most heated rivalry you people have there in Europe x1000.

However if we lose to them, I can't even imagine the shit storm it would cause. Brazilians would regret this loss for decades. However fate is a cruel mistress, I wouldn't be surprised if we do meet up at the final in the end but I dread this moment. I don't think I'd be able to sit through the game, I don't think my body can handle something of that magnitude.

Historically Argentina is a powerhouse...currently, well the players barely deserve the shirts. I mean look at the game against Mexico. It required them a illegal goal and a uber mistake from one of the Mexican defenders.

Why not? Brazil and Portugal left the same group and are on different sides of the knockout table.

Ah yes, you're right, I forgot about them being pulled apart again.

Also, apparently Blatter has agreed on negotiating about using cameras today. According to him, considering the experiences in the world cup so far, it would be foolish not to consider it. So far he's only conceding on cameras on the goal line, though.

Hmmm, Paraguay are through on penalties after a miss by Komano. 0-0 for 105 minutes in a match characterised by mediocre but not bad play from either side, who went through wasn't better than a coin toss. As it is, I went for the right side :D .

Paraguay played artistic football with plenty of flair from all players and therefore deserved to win. Plus my maid is from Paraguay we were both cheering for them. And now she is making me some mate tea to celebrate. Double win.

Although I have plenty of naturalized japanese friends here, can't say I was a big fan of of their performance the only thing I can remember about them was that one of their forwards had excellent ball control.

I'm extremely glad to see the Portuguese being outmatched at every turn here, btw. It wasn't exactly what I had bet on (though I did bet on a win for Spain) but having Portugal out is always a good thing, I'd say :D . The amount of deaths on the field is also surprisingly low for a match with Portugal in it. EDIT: scratch that, Portugal are elbowing people in the face already. EDIT2: and Ronaldo being the sore loser as always, spitting at the cameras :xD: .

Here comes a new challenger!

And the most overrated player is sent home. Portugal should teach their players to have character.

Well so far we hadn't faced anything really dangerous. Brazil though, jeez... |8

If we can do this though, we have a shot at the Cup. Oh BOY.
