This Saturday I'm planning on waking up good and early then buying a Premium account and playing all day, granted that nothing else comes up to prevent me from playing.

Okay, I've been looking at this game for a while now. It seems pretty fun and interesting from what I've heard about it. I'm thinking of getting the game now especially since the game has hit open beta.
I've got a couple of questions about the game though, I hope you guys can answer them for me
Does the game cost any money? How much 'grinding' does the game require and is it actually fun to play?
Thanks guys in advance

It's free to play though if you pay for it, you get 50% more xp and credits from fights. Don't know about the costs of the premium account in real money.
The you need to do more and more grinding as you go towards the end of the trees but it's not too bad until the very end.
If the matchmaking doesn't put you into games way above your tier and keeps the match balanced, it's alot of fun. It can be really frustrating if you end up in a match where you can't even scratch most tanks. For the most parts it's a fun game

Unless you play the Russian beta, you don't have to pay money out of pocket. You are given daily amounts of gold (250 gold), with which you can purchase a premium tank, convert free experience, obtain a premium account (1.5x experience and credits), and buy premium ammo.
The game is a lot of fun, but there are times when this "fun" is subjective and situational. A lot oft he times it depends on the tank you've chosen to use, the map, the tier matchup, and the people you're on a team with.
Grinding depends on how far down the tech tree you wish to travel. As the tiers get higher, so does the experience needed to move up and unlock equipment for that tier of tank. Some nations require more experience to move up than others, and depending on how well you do in a match, determines how fast you move on.

Just got back my premium account yesterday which I lost over the 5x exp period when I spent all my gold on goodies. Prolly gonna play a little bit more now, especially since there's 250g a day, which is 6250 converted free exp per day.
Edit: Wow, just had a hilarious round. I was top tank, and we were basically against Team Hezter. I got 11 kills. and I was limping at the end of the game. Bounced a 1% hezter, killed it, dodged a Grille shot, took aim (at the time I had basically every module damaged and only 77 health). Cross-Counter. We both died and ended with a draw. Most Epic Round Ever.

What were you in that round?
IS. Pretty much the only thing that could do that. I was literally dodging artillery the entire time. (I killed both of them). I was on the one smallish map with the hill in the middle, and I was able to kill one arty from there and cross-countered with the last one. It was hilarious because they had 4 Hetzers and I one-shotted every single one, except the the one with 1% health.

This game is really starting to piss me off and I'm tempted to just quit and never look back. People seeing me when I'm hidden, retarded teammates rushing the enemy and/or trying to solo it and getting slaughtered and finally the matchmaking, my T3 tanks getting put against T5 heavies that I hardly put a dent in even when I shoot them from behind, yeah that's really fair.

^If you think thats bad, try driving a Tier 10....and loosing. Like my King tiger, when loosing, reaches the repair to 20k

Anyone know if they're planning to add a English tank tech tree?
The French tech tree is coming first, right after launch in sometime in march or possibly April. the Brits come after that, then the Japanese.
In between there will be incremental updates to the existing trees, for instance, before launch or at launch, we will be getting Tier 8 arty, a German and Soviet premium heavy tank, and a small German medium tank. Amercian TDs are also in the works and will probably appear before the French tree as well.
That is the plan so far to the best of my knowledge.

When shooting the bigger and higher tier tanks, you need to do several things. Either make sure that your cursor is green (which means it has a good chance of penetration), or switch to HE rounds. If you have a big gun that does huge HE damage compared to the AP damage, you might as well roll exclusively with HE. The American M2 Medium, Soivet T-46 are both nice small tanks with hilariously large cannons for their tiers, and you should always roll with HE with those tanks with those cannons.

King Tigers aren't tier 10's though, they're tier 8's. You must also have a lot of equipment on your King Tiger for it to reach that high for a repair bill.
My IS-3 doesn't get much over 16k for a full repair.

so gents, I'm on Panther II and I've got three choices: Buy a new engine (H.P. 750 => 870, all else stays the same); buy the better 7.5 cm gun, which shoots faster, aims better, lighter, same pen, less damage per shot but about the same dps (accounting for pen and accuracy) as my current 8.8 cm gun; or just keep on saving till I can get the final 10.5 cm gun. My other current upgrades on my Panther II is the Tracks, Radio, Turret and obviously the 8.8 cm cannon.
Alternatively I can save up for the BL-10 on my ISU-152 (and by extension the object 704), not sure if I'll ever get to the 704 before launch though and I'm not too happy with my ISU-152... :(

Save for the BL-10. That cannon does for the ISU-152, what the BL-9 does for the IS-3 and the S-70 does for the IS-4. Grinding for the Obyekt will be a bit easier then, considering that the BL-10 carries over.
I'm currently in the process of saving up free experience so I can unlock both the S-70 and the BL-10. Good thing I have 4 elite tanks to grind experience on.

EU server.
The place where retards dont exist

There's retards in the EU-servers too but not so much. Since the game went to open beta there's alot of new players who don't know anything so they will be abit of a pain in the ass

Exactly my point...alot more retards on the NA server.
Prolly has to do with the fact that alot of non-NA retards decided to stick with the NA server

Well to be honest I gave up playing WoT when they migrated to the US server at first, and that was mainly because the number of cowboys drastically increased with that move, this is a phenomenon I've noticed on many games : You're always more likely to find more players to willing to team play on UK servers than US ones (and also less likely to be called a cheater

If it's US or russia, they just seem to be idiots, lowsy loosers or cheaters xD of course that doesn't mean that all are but from my experience, more than other places

Dunno, I felt a mild improvement when the servers split. However, things got shittier since it became an open beta. At least most of those on the Something Awful forums are on the US-side, those guys know what they're doing.
Edit:
Perhaps the most bamf thing that can ever happen. Not only that, they win.

After a quick backtrack a couple of pages, I see they're adding the T28 Super Heavy Tank.
Does anyone know if they'll add other Super-Heavy tanks;
Like the Panzer VIII Maus, Object 279, or the Tortoise heavy assault tank?

Maus has been in the Game forever. Is-7 is also there, along with the T-34, which is some American experimental super-heavy. The T-95/T28 is being added along with all the other American TDs after launch in May, and the Tortoise is being added (but probably way later). Dunno about the 279, but probably.
