Most of us are aware that we get an award for doing something in game. If you happen to kill 7 or more tanks you get "Top Gun". If you manage to be the only one to cap the enemy base you get "Invader". Well, not everyone knows how to get those awards or what those awards actually mean. Personally, I wasn't aware that "Confederate meant you shot at and hit 9 or more targets and had a teammate destroy them, until I was awarded it. So, without further explanation, I'll leave it to the latest bit of news: Know what you've been awarded for!

I'm just waiting for the next patch so I can get my S-51! (I want them to lower the requirements by 20k xp before I go for it :P)

Rumor has it the first small patch is gonna happen on Thursday/Friday!

That's a heck of a rumor if it's true. Really looking forward to new maps, namely the Siegfried Line. The Swamp looks like it's going to be a pain.

Those are some nice details. Nifty screenies of US tanks in Arid environments!

I totally want to have some Japanese tanks now. I remember I have mundo fun with their shitty tanks in mods like BF 1942: Forgotten Hope.

I'm interested to see how the Calliope will be implemented. Stick some camo netting on it and when a tank gets close, ambush it with rockets and your main cannon.

Oh very good indeed. I'm so going to have an "Easy 8" to tool around in. Shame the M26 won't be around until possibly the release of the game. Ah well, at least the Priest made it in. :P

LOL, American WWII tanks are hilariously ugly at times. But I do like some of the post-war heavies, and those arty don't look bad either.

Too bad the update with US tanks is prolly another two weeks away. Thought the mini-update (two new maps, some small fixes, no more tanka-porting) has me rather excited; they're gonna lower the xp price on the S-51 by 20k, which means I'm gonna get a S-51 aka moon cannon very soon.

Also comment from the one who made these pics :P

-There's new effects. For example, when a tank blows up, there's a heat-wave thingy (kinda like when the Strider shoots the warp cannon in HL2) and when you die, there's a gray haze in the spectator view.
-M3 Grant works like a TD.
-You get several thousand exp per battle (my record so far within 20 battles or so is 15,000) in order to be able to test lots of vehicles during this 2-day russian patch test thingy.
-WARPING IS GONE. Thank god. You can actually hit thanks and the shots don't go through them like nothing happened. Much better and easier to aim now when you don't have to lead like fuck.
-Autoaim always aims to the center of the tank, even when moving sideways.

So, I guess we'll only be able to use the hull mounted 75mm in the M3, and turret mounted 37mm will be "just for show" (like the 75mm co-axial is on the Maus). I guess it's okay, but having to use a tank that basically equates to a tank destroyer (with the profile of a barn), just to get to a tank (with a profile that isn't any better) with a proper turret may prove agonizing. Ah well, can't wait to get my hands on some Yankee metal!

I'm currently 'recieving update' but the progress bar hasn't gone anywhere. But it does mean the mini-update is out, and hopefully along with it, those 2 new maps.

Anyone encounter the new maps yet? I wonder if the maps are "optimized" so that they're in the rotation on a regular basis, but in the games I've had so far, that doesn't seem to be the case. :P
