Mass Effect 3
Destiny 12 Dec 2010
I thought he'd go 'oh shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii-' and the tower get blasted by some superweapon or whatnot...

This calls for:
Epic trailer looks pure epic. I think people will find that the 'basic invasion scenario' is simply there to entice newcomers. Most Mass Effect players already know what to expect, and frankly, I can't envisage us spending a huge amount of time on Earth in the game at all. So nice to see it's London though. That said, London is getting the Olympics soon, so as far as marketing goes this ties in quite nicely for EA/Bioware. I expect great things from this game

I was at a house party, and got up at 6am to watch the trailer 3 times. Just watched the trailer now in HD, it looks epic.
I quite literally was breathless for a second when it panned out to the Reapers just ruining shit. Simply amazing.
Weird that they havent updated the ME website with it, not even Bioware's site news section has anything about it

Mass Effect 3 is a singleplayer game
So supposedly, that is the end of the multiplayer speculation.
Quote
“Now that BioWare has officially announced Mass Effect 3 with their press release yesterday, I’m going back to my age-old thread closer here: Mass Effect 3 is a single-player game. Feel free to dissect the trailer in this thread, I suppose.”

Thank god. I wasn't excited for a Mass Effect Multiplayer game, especially if it was done like CoD. *Shivers*
BeefJeRKy 16 Dec 2010
Yes the trailer gave me goosebumps. Should be AMAZING.
Also EA announced that they will no longer produce single-player only games. Mass Effect is the last of its kind. All future games will have some form of social integration.

Wonderful, brilliant, magical, top draw. I really want my games to post my scores automatically on Twatter.

I want to see stereotypical London bobbies bumbling around, that'd be hilarious.

To that I say FUCK OFF. Although as long as we have the option of playing solo I don't mind as much, if they force you to interact with people then I shall be a tad annoyed.

It would completely ruin the immersion.
Im pretty sure its not the last of its kind, if everything becomes multiplayer people will just bet bored of gaming.

Yeah somehow I doubt they will completely remove single player. more that they will tack on multiplayer even if it doesn't necessarily fit. it would be cool to trade saves with friends though.

Well in response to all the hype here I bought Mass Effect to give it a try. Currently not beyond the initial Citadel stages but the story is very engaging.
Doubt I'll be able to run the third one when it comes to it tho.

Thank goodness they scrapped that multilayer scheme, also as far as the we're all fucked thing I'm sure Canada made it out OK aliens never attack Canada, they are way to busy with America and everyone else. *begins constructing igloo bunker*
Now since we are all done with game speculation how about the who's gonna return in ME3?
From what I've gathered from talking to some Bioware employee who saw me sitting on a train with a N7 hat and foolishly decided to chat me up. Tali is going to be there and I already knew that MP was out of the question, most likely as he put it 2 months or so back "We want to concentrate on delivering a consistent engaging story for our fans without sacrificing.. blah blah" I stopped listening at Tali.
So without further ado let's get speculating:
Assuming he wasn't trying to throw me off with a cruel prank about Tali, while admitting that multiplayer was out of the question so lets go:
Recurring characters (most likely)
-Shepard (durr)
-Joker (I swear to God if Joker is removed from the game I'm beating it like 10 or 15 times then tossing the box out the window and microwaving the DVD game
-Ashley or Kaidan depending on who you sacrificed on Virmire on ME1
-Liara, who replaces Samara or Morinth, depending on what you did on Omega as what happens on Omega stays on Omega, if you don't have an Asari on your ship there's something wrong with you.
-Tali!
-Garrus
-Kelly
-Dr. Chackwas
Possibly coming back
-Mordin
-Legion
-Miranda
-Jacob (shivers, I hated that guy)
-Jack (hated her more but her biotic powers were useful)
-Grunt
-Wrex (would be awesome)
-Illusive man
Not coming back
-Samara as in a dialogue she decides she want's to go back to Omega and clean it up
-Morinth is a freaky sex addict, she isn't getting any on the Normandy so she'll bail
-Thane is dying so he won't be there
-Zaeed, he got paid to go with you, his contract is up and he's probably on a beach somewhere by now (but not on Earth, he knows whats coming)
-Kasumi, also a hired contractor is probably stealing stuff elsewhere, probably made off with your recovered N7 Helmet anyways
_______________
Anyone have any thoughts?
*Resumes re-playing ME1 for the 6th time*

Kelly as in the Kelly that was standing in the CIC as your assistant? She's been turned into protein goo.

If you go to the Omega 4 relay straight after the collector attack (or just do Legions loyalty mission) on your ship then you save everyone.

I seriously have no idea then how you manage to fumble this then I get all my loyalty missions in, plus have the Normandy fully pimped out before going through the relay and save everyone. Plus then I get the ermmm. Enjoyable cut scene with Kelly at then end.

I should try this then. I lost Miranda and Tali. Dunno why I lost Tali, I lost miranda prob cos I did not have her loyalty. I lost it after the Jack's loyalty mission :(
