The Epic Launch Trailer is here.....behold!!!

Get Ready

New reputation system is tweaked and you can't be a Villain. This is a tad bit worrying for me.

And it's actually been like this in the whole series. I don't recall having an option to join Saren or to keep the collectors base for myself...

There was an option to destroy or keep the collector base though, which should be important. The ending background changes accordingly (Renegade or Paragon) if I remember right.

Also in ME2, there were some options where your team members get killed or you fail the mission entirely. Perhaps this might still be the case. My first impression was that these elements were removed. But it seems that it isn't.

Exactly! I seriously don't see the big change here tbh.

This is true, but both would eventually serve to destroy the Reapers.

This news worries me a bit to be honest. Why the hell should we play the co-op missions to improve the readiness level. MP should be unobtrusive to the SP IMO. Wtf is this? I still did not buy this game and I am sort of furious right now. Did any one play this yet to have a good idea about it?

They will do anything as long as enough people buy their games and DLCs. I'm not giving them another cent, and will wait until ME3 is on Ebay or so if I buy it at all.

I'm playing it right now. So far it's great fun. It plays a lot more like ME1, has the same "Interactable" Icon ME1 has, and the same system for weapons, with the 2 upgrade slots. What disturbs me tho is, Vega has bigger moobs than femshep has boobs.

Check if it havn't unlocked for you AJ, my copy unlocked at midnight last night. It was totaly worth not going to sleep to be able to instantly play it once it got available 8|

As for the game, about 7 hours in and I'm enjoying it so far. Hate the shitloads of sidequests that I keep losing track of though >.< On another note, I just acquired full Galaxy readiness if I do some Multiplayer before I finish the game, if anyone's up for it just message me. I'm on most of the day because I've got nothing better to do |8

Wow .... i just finished this game like 5 hours ago. It's hard to expres the amount of dissapointment, but damn, i have lost the last trace of fate i had left in crap-o-ware. I will start with the end though, because for me that was the biggest dissapointment. Seriously ... bioware needs to hire someone who can write a story better than a 15 years old virgin with to much porn and lsd in his brain. To put it short ( HUGE SPOILER ) - the reapers were the solution of a ancient AI to organic chaos. Sounds cool, but ingame story it goes like this - the ancient ai created the reapers ( machines - synthetics ) to end organic civilizations before those civilizations can create other synthetics that would destroy them - the civilizations O.o . Like ... wow ... this beats even C&C4 ending for me. It would've been acceptable if they were just an ancient race that made sure organics never get the tech to threaten them, or they just needed advanced organic life for multiplication and tech harverst, but really. Synthetics killed organics so they dont create other synthetics that would kill the same organics. Now moving to actual gameplay final. I enjoyed the ME2 finale mission system that had an ending based on how much stuff you did in the game. However in ME3, no matter wtf you do and how much shit you unlock in the game, the end will be the same. I spent literaly hours of boring searching for every war asset in the game. I unlocked EVERY damn thing possible. Hell my galactic readiness were way over the maximum limit. Yet the end is the same.
Another thing i tend to realize game makers do today is overcomplicate stuff that should be just some easy thing to do ( especialy when it has no actual importance in the end ), and simplify stuff that should be complicated. I will give a major example - they created this retarded system that when you scan a system where there are reapers they will detect you and come to rape your ass. This leads to hours of hit and run between systems to find war assets and upgrades, and all for nothing, while stuff like actual ingame action and even the end part is just scripted action sequences.
The RPG part in this game went a bit higher than in ME2, but except for an imrpoved weapons upgrade system and an improved ability tech tree, the rest is the same. Every armor component or weapon is either unlocked in a precise mission or from a shop at a exact time after some important mission. There is still no inventory and what you bring with you at the begining cannot be changed in most missions (except when you find a new weapon in that level) and prety much everything is extremly rigid and scripted. Basicly ME3 is a CoD with more story and more covers. Which reminds me - the new cover system is a real crap - most of the time you end up moving exactly the direction you dont want.
All in all, while the weapon/armor variety is a bit bigger and the weapon modules and improved abillity tech trees bring a bit of depth in the gameplay, the game itself is a total disapointment with shity taken gameplay decision by overcomplicating unimportant thing, having an extremly rigid gameplay and an end game that makes the C&C 4 one feel better.
In my opinion - don't buy it. Just wait for an extremly cheap version of it and if you really wanna play it, just use other means. And yes i encourage this shit with all my heart, because if bioware will do every possible stupid thing (inlcuding unloking ingame content via dlc though ITS FKIN THERE ALREADY ), then seriously ... why would i encourage buying their shit. If they spent more time in actualy making this game a awsome one instead of crating tons of publicity clips and spending tons of money in overhyping it, i bet the result woud've been alot different.
Sheppard out - literaly!

OK, cue a mix of disbelief, annoyance, and love for Bioware. The rest of this is in spoiler tags as I will be referring to plot points/etc.

Spoiler

All in all, Bioware wrapped things up really well. The game itself is exceptional, and the storyline is, for the most part, breathtaking and clever. It just seems that, at the end of the day, Bioware had one ending. They tweaked it a bit for various semi-endings, but at the end of the day, you are controlling the journey. Bioware is controlling the end. And it is not the most satisfying experience ever as a result of that.

That said, still an outstanding game, and the ending(s) should not detract from from the previous 20-30hours you put in. Think back, and you'll love it.

No replies? What on earth... |8

Also:

Terrible endings or not, the Mass Effect 3 community does appear to be doing something pretty cool: http://retakemasseff...ect-childs-play

Basically, they have attached a petition to a sponsorship page for a charity called Child's Play (which donates video games & consoles to children's hospitals etc to make their stay more enjoyable), and in an attempt to make themselves look more sincere than a bunch of warbling idiots on forum threads (and achieving said appearance, imo), are petitioning Bioware through donating to charity. Simple, but effective, and even if no endings are changed, then there's a lot of good coming out of this.

(Oh, and they've raised $10k in 24hours)
