It's an antipersonnel mine that is triggered by proximity of stuff, a pressurized thingy shoots the mine up into the air and explodes/ejects sharp shit all directions. Pretty sure this type of weapon exists today.

Course it does, they're called bounding mines and were used a lot during the Vietnam war.

I didn't say the contrary, just that they were used a lot in nam ^^
Concerning the video though, I do hope most of this stuff is available in regular Team Deathmatches and FFA, Zombie mode and Spec ops should get less attention IMHO.

Not that this really is "IW" anylonger, they fired all the old guys, remember?

Well, the nature of their firing is somewhat controversial. According to themselves it was because Activision refused to pay them royalties.

-0:06 a description of the survival gametype is shown. Note that the description mentions XP as well as level progression through the gametype; this means that the survival gametype is not a single-game job like previous Spec Ops and Zombies mode where you always were the same at the start, but rather a long-term progression gametype with full level ladders and unlocks just like in MP. This is confirmed later by the fact that players are shown as levelling up and unlocking certain things.
-0:06 note that in the background words "endless waves" is mentioned. This indicates that the game goes on forever and that you cannot actually "win" it unlikel for example Killing Floor where there is a finite amount of waves.
-0:11 an M4-platform weapon is shown firing,
-0:12 an M16A4 is seen firing; confirming it is a three-round burst weapon again, by the way. The firing sound is different. A portion of the reload animation is shown, which looks to be the same as the MW2 one. Note that the weapon is equipped with a red dot sight that has been styled like in CoD 4, indicating that this style of RDSes is back. Which I like because personally I found them looking considerably better than the MW2 one.
-0:12 a grey icon in the shape of a perk with something resembling a syringe is show in the bottom of the screen. Presumably this is some kind of one-time-use health boost EDIT or a revive.
-0:13 the player is seen receiving $500 for completing a killstreak. A bar on the bottom left of the screen is reset and now shows $1000 instead of $500 like it did before. The other bar says "headshots"; other bars in other parts of the video show things like "headshot kills" and "knife kills" and "quad kills" and "assists" which probably means that the player can earn extra money and/or XP by completing certain ad hoc challenges the computer throws at the player. Also note that XP earned is displayed in green to differentiate it from earned money.
-0:14 the HK 416 thing is shown in the middle of a reload flipping left and the quickly flipping right. The reason for this flip isn't clear and people have reported this looking weird. Personally I think it looks pretty good, but I have no idea what it is for. Note that the player is being shot and receives damageviewkick, so that's in, and possibly it's the reason for the flip, though I consider that unlikely.
-0:14 an equipment armoury is seen on the screen. I looks as if it consists of a laptop on a car package basically.
-0:15 the player is seen shooting down a helicopter and getting 300 XP for it. The player is holding an MP5 which means that he either downed it with that, i.e. helicopters are vulnerable to bullet fire, or he fired a rocket earlier. The player is damaged by attack from the helicopters and the damage blood screen is shown quite clearly against the cloudy white sky. It consists of everything reddening a bit to a kind of pink, with blood splatters on the edge of the screen. Note that the centre of the screen is unonbstructed: this is a major step forward from the bloody screen in MW2 which resembled strawberry jam which left you unable to see anything on the whole screen. This can be of great importance for MP as well.
-0:16 a TOW-missile or similar rocket is shown hitting the ground from above, exploding and hitting the player, kicking his weapon almost off the screen. The weapon is an M4 which has a black-yellow ring on the charging handle's lock which is very distinct. Also note the that front iron sight is not a one-post ring like in MW2 nor its own bunny-ear post like in CoD 4 but an open right with one post in it, resembling an AK-47 sight.
-0:18 a weapon is shown in ADS with a CoD 4 RDS on it, but it's almost impossible to make out what the weapon is. Note that the player is holding a sentry gun as a hardpoint.
-0:19 an AK-47 is shown firing, showing rabid recoil in all directions that recentres very quickly. The buck from previous games seems to have gone and been replaced by this effect. The AK is fitted with side-mounted rails even though nothing it attached to them meaning the rails come on the stock weapon model. Rails all over as usual, then xD .
-0:21 an ACR is shown, sand-coloured unlike the grey ACR of MW2, while the player is being shot at by shells from a helicopter or something. This makes it hard to make much out, but the weapon has a CoD 4 RDS and has dropped its crucifix iron sight for a MW2 FAMAS "flip sight" that was on every weapon and their dog in Black Ops. As this is the only weapon it's showed on so far, the iron sights are probably a ways more unique than they were in Black Ops. Note that the player is holding a hardpoint that has a smoke grenade for an icon; this is an sir support marker. Dark purple smoke is seen in the background and that's probably what a deployed marker looks like.
-0:24 the player whooshes into FPS perspective from up high at the start of a match. It is shown that the player starts off with a syringe perk, 100 armour points, an FN five-seven pistol and an assortment of grenades. Note that no challenge bars are shown yet, so the player either hasn't unlocked this option yet or this doesn't hold for the start of a game.
-0:31 the player kills an enemy with a pistol and gets $500 for a killstreak reward again. Note that dollar bills fly out like they do on a payback kill in MW2: this animation is probably recycled for killing an enemy and completing a challange earning money.
-0:32 the player wields a winchester model 1887 lever-action shotgun that has a modern iron sight on it resembling an M1014 iron sight with illuminated dots on it. The weapon seems to cycle and fire faster than its MW2 counterpart and also holds 7 rounds this time. The weapon says "hasta" on the back, probably part of "hasta la vista" which is a reference to the Terminator 2 where Arnold Schwarzenegger uses an M1887 as well as the line "hasta la vista". Ejected rounds are red this time instead of blue.
-0:33 the player levels up and an unlock menu is shown on the right. It shows three perks that can apparently be bought at the air support armoury; Extreme Conditioning, SitRep and Steady Aim. Of particular interest is Extreme Conditioning which is the CoD 4 version of MW2's Marathon. Unlike Marathon though, which is a tier 1 perk that gives unlimited sprint, Extreme Conditioning is a tier 3 perk that gives only doubled sprint time. Whether this change is specific to Survival is unknown but if this is true for MP as well the perk system will probably work considerably different from the MW2 one.
-0:39 a buy menu from a weapon armoury is shown, revealing two more weapons: the USAS 12 (which is a magazine-fed automatic shotgun) and the M60E4. Considering its high cost the M60 will probably be very powerful. There is also a "share $500" button which indicates you can pass money to your comrades. The announcer mentions that weapons and weapon upgrades are available so you may be able to buy stuff like attachments in the weapon armoury.
-0:41 a G36c is shown reloading. The G36c is back!
-0:43 an ACR is shown firing, and it's very apparent that the ACR has absolutely no recoil again, at least in this gametype.
-0:47 an equipment armoury buy menu is shown featuring grenades, claymores, C4, turrets (one with a minigun, one with a grenade launcher!) and last stand. While last stand has been confirmed out of MP, in this gametype if makes sense.
-0:50 some kind of MP5 (MP5K?) is seen firing with a MW2 RDS on it, indicating you can choose from more than one red dot sight model.
-0:52 the MP5K is shown reloading which shows it is equipped with an RIS-style foregrip like a normal MP5K. Perhaps this is an optional extra on the MP5.
-0:59 an air support armoury buy menu is shown featuring several types of AI squads you can hire to fight for: a delta squad and a riot shield squad. You can also buy a predator missile from here. You can see the squads dropping in a few seconds later.
-1:04 the player is shown holding a hardpoint with an american flag for a symbol. This is either a symbol for some american help squads or some kind of patriotic thing again.
-1:08 an MP5K is brought into sight for a short period showing a holographic sight, so that's still in as well.
-1:10 an AC-130 Spectre is seen raining death on an area marked by an air support marker. It's probably you can fire autonomous AC-130 support judging from this.
-1:11 the player encounters a dog with C4 strapped to it. When the dog is shot by the player, it dies and starts emitting a red light. After about three seconds, the dog explodes. This indicates there is a time frame in which you can escape from these explosives.
-1:18 the announcer mentions that the enemy are using chemical agents. What exactly this is is not known yet.
-1:23 the player is seen operating a predator drone and firing a missile. Note that this indicates the predator will work like the MW2 campaign, NOT the MW2 MP mode.
-1:24 for a brief flash the player is seen pulling out an AK-47 with some scope attached to it that has an illuminated ranging reticle. The scope will probably feature increased zoom and be some kind of ACOG. The AK is also fitted with a grenade launcher.
-1:28 Juggernauts are seen dropping in by helicopter at wave 9 no less. They seem more vulnerable to enemy fire this time around, and the player dazes one with a flashbang not long after. Note that the Juggernaut is wielding an AK-47, NOT the M240 they carried in MW2.
-1:40 a Juggernaut armed with a light machinegun that makes an MG4 firing is shown shooting at the player who is using a riot shield for cover. The player doesn't seem able to fire from ehind it like the AI in MW2 could, but the shield, despite being damaged visually, seems to hold out again. It's probable they are either very strong or indestructible like in MW2.
-2:01 an MP private match cut is shown. Note that the player is holding several hardpoints, from which he can apparently choose, of which one is a predator missile and the first one is unclear. The third one, a Juggernaut, is unlocked as the player kills Fourzerotwo. Note that the player holds a stun grenade, a mine, and then switches to a Magpul FMG9 which is a tiny 6mm-calibre PDW minigun. 402 is shown approaching an IMS IFF mine which launches an explosive into the air, then detonates. Note several things here; the streak is not labelled a "kill streak" but a "point streak" (you get it after getting points instead of kills?), the minimp is in full colour in this mode, and the mine has what seems like an OpFor icon above it. This is interesting because no sign of the OpFor was found until now.

EDIT: Also, the first MP5 doesn't look like a K to me, it's too long, more like an MP5A5, but HK isn't my specialty so I make no promises. Also, isn't the FMG-9 a nine millimeter? I'm 99% sure it is (not six) because it's basically a Glock in a box, an 18 or a 17.
Also, 0:41, an ACR 6.8 is shown as a purchasable weapon- which is interesting because none of the previous games have had variable calibers, and the ACR shown prior appears to be a 5.56.

The scope is an Aimpoint CompM2 which is a red dot sight only, no magnification (And it is actually made for the M4). So it looks like there is a wide range of red-dot sights available, or the looks change from gun to gun.

This looks interesting, I always thought a point streak would be better suited... we'll see.
Also it looks like kills by killstreak-support will count to your streak again, unlike in BlackOps.

I thought that mine-thing was a killstreak rather than normal equipment (since it looks like it would fire more than one mine). And at the end of the video he gets the next killstreak reward after his mine kills the guy. Again... we'll see.

Nah really, it's a bit annoying Activision had to hold out so long with this but I'm glad they put them in anyway. Now let's just hope the server browser is actually not as completely and utterly useless as the Treyarch one (I deem it unlikely that it will be).
EDIT: btw, it DOES mention anti-cheats a bit: "With so much competition and rewards to be won, PC cheaters are a definite concern for Activision. Representatives said it is actively working on solutions and won't ship Modern Warfare 3 without being able to ensure a fair fight for players. "
