How much do you eat on average?

CJ's Photo CJ 15 May 2011

Let's be serious for a moment here Brad, we're discussing metabolisms of normal people, not the kind of people who get drunk with a single glass of wine :xD:

Well lets see.

Breakfast: Very dependant on when I get up/what I have going on, etc. If it's an early start I'll probably start with a couple of bowls of cereal (these vary according to what I am currently in the mood for, but is normally Muesli/Cornflakes/Cheerios), or about 4 slices of toast and a glass of milk/juice.

Lunch: Very very often missed. Normally because I'm in a lecture. If not, I'll be at Uni, at which point it becomes a 'Meal Deal' from somewhere or another in town, which is a sandwich, drink, and bag of crisps. There may be a few odds and sods thrown in along the lines of chocolate/biscuits if I'm hungry.

Dinner: Whatever is in the fridge/freezer/etc. Usually going to be a curry, a chille con carne, spag bog, etc. This usually tends to be quite a big meal for me - tend to have between 300-500g of meat at any one time. If it's not the above, I'll sometimes make myself something like a shepard's pie, or lasagna, which lasts two/three days.

I also tend to snack most of the evening, as it sort of balances me out due to lack of foods earlier in the day. Tbh, probably hit the 2k calories margin comfortably, but I have no idea how many of those come from good carbs (starch). I'd bet not a huge amount, thus why they often go straight in and then straight out again.

Oh, and my BMI is 22.0 exactly. 182cm and 73kg.

breakfast: usually a chocolate bun, sometimes a cup of instant noodle.
elevenses: depends on my breakfast. at uni break, if I'm still hungry I'll look up for porridge, soto, or fried rice. if not, I'll just look up for drinks.
lunch: full course of chinese/padang/warung cuisine (usually pick rice and up to 3 different menus)
dinner: chinese/padang/warung cuisine

funny I can't get fat more than 50kg. my BMI is a bit lower than average (18.1).

If I'm at school:
Breakfast: 2x toast with cheese, 1 glass of milk
Lunch: depends on what I prefer that day, but mostly 3 sandwiches with cheese (I love cheese :xD:)
Dinner: depends, but mostly potatoes, vegetables and meat

If I'm at work:
Breakfast: 2x toast with cheese, 1 glass of milk
Lunch: 5 slices of brown bread with something on it (varies)
Dinner: depends, but mostly potatoes, vegetables and meat

If I'm at work:
Breakfast: 2x toast with cheese, 1 glass of milk
Lunch: nothing, as I'm mostly late out of bed then
Mid afternoon snack: potato chips
Dinner: depends, but mostly potatoes, vegetables and meat

While I think I eat too much sometimes, most ppl disagree with me. I guess that is because I weight 80 kilos and am 2.00 meters long, resulting in a rather skinny person :xD:

If you're two meters long you'd be a very obese person :xD: I get your meaning, but your Dutch food seems a bit...un-filling.

I say the same over Chinese food :xD: I get hungry 1 hour after eating that :xD:

Yeah that's how unfilling they are. Unless you eat rice (with side dishes, since plain rice is tasteless), which is a staple food of quite a lot of...people.

I don't understand how you can all eat so much :xD: . Or even how you can be hungry, especially with this amount of food :xD: .

Ravioli no less, not the most energy-poor food ever :xD: .

Actually, it was a mistake, I ate Lasagna, with extra béchamel sauce, and a good 150g of meat in each portion :xD:

Can't quite accurately put anything to how much I eat lately(last couple months), I've been lowering how much food intake I have, as well as caffeine intake, due to gaining a bit of fat on my stomach. Before then I would eat only a little bit of food, but pretty often. BMI of about 20.4, 6 feet 1 inch, and 155lbs.

My diet:
Breakfast: A bowl of cereal + small plate of fruit
Lunch: Usually a sandwich with chicken or some fruit preserve
Dinner: Beef/chicken/fish with rice/potatoes/noodles and a side of vegetables

I tend to exercise 2-3 times a week (usually some interval training, push-ups, a bit of weight training from time to time). Currently I'm about 178-180cm and weigh 61kg. My parents tell me I look a bit emaciated; I can't really help it as I have a naturally lean, lanky build so I generally can't avoid being skinny. Not to mention that in my house there's hardly any decent (of the sugary/fatty variety) snacks and I hardly eat out or have any fast food - though when I DO have the opportunity to indulge I rarely have any qualms. 8|

Your diet is really strange, aren't you even a bit curious about other foods?

Its just that buying in bulk is cheaper, and its my favourite food that I can cook myself in UK.

For me It's not so much that I'm hungry, in that I just want to eat. This past year I have been eating alot though, so if I haven't had about 3000 calories, I'll eat some high calorie foods to top it up. I discovered that if I eat less than about 2800 I lose weight.

All those eggs.... :xD:

At least that makes eating easy... :xD:

I could never summarize what I eat in a day because it varies so much, but a few things I have every day:
-Whey/casein protein shake first thing in the morning
-Vitamin with breakfast
-Chicken, lots of chicken (LOVE IT)
-Usually a whey protein shake after my workout, and sometimes creatine/Vitamin B/other shit shake also

I have about 4 big meals every day with snacks in between. I'm naturally a very skinny person (I used to weigh 145 lbs and be 6'2"), but I've been trying to put on muscle and gain weight for about 4 or 5 years now, so I'm around 200 lbs today.
:xD:
